    I worked at Clarins USA full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    If you are already established in your career and come to Clarins, you will be very happy with the company.
    Some of the reasons:
    Team based, always have a support system
    Great Atmosphere, good relationships between employees
    Amazing Products
    Gratis twice per year

    Cons

    If you are an entry-level or lower level employee, it is very difficult to move up the ladder.
    Expected to work long hours
    Not much room for promotions and advancement, little room for growth
    Could be paid more elsewhere

    I have been working at Clarins USA full-time

    Pros

    - Coworkers are friendly and willing to answer your questions
    - Since it is a small company, you get to have a good personal relationship with some of your coworkers
    - CEO meets every new employee and knows them by name
    - Great hours. A normal work day is around 8:30AM-6PM. Summer Fridays are also a nice bonus
    - Benefits are competitive
    - Values community service
    - Product gratis is generous

    Cons

    - Very minimal room for growth. Even when a position is open, the company likes to hire from the outside rather than promote from within.
    - Compensation is below what competitors offer
    - Not a lot of encouragement for personal growth

    I have been working at Clarins USA full-time

    Pros

    Beautiful products, philosophy and history
    Family owned
    Philanthropic endeavors are admirable and consistent

    Cons

    Company management is inexperienced and misdirected
    Account Executives are responsible to too much of the workload and receive little direction or support...only blame.
    Micromanagement bordering on harassment...6 days a week, with no acknowledgement of personal time or work/life balance.
    New York office positions continue to be added, while the field sales forces continues to be cut back.

    ...they would not accept advice, even if it was offered. "They don't want to know what the don't already know"

    Pleasant-enough offices, great neighborhood, convenient to public transportation, ability to purchase product at discount, excellent training re the actual product sold by company

    Cons

    Unapproachable senior management, cliquey, too French, unfriendly

    Easy access to top management - your ideas will be heard and you will get credit for them!
    Great work atmosphere
    Good work/life balance
    Leader of European prestige skincare
    Privately owned: the top management thinks long term

    Cons

    You can certainly get a slightly better salary somewhere else, but probably not with the same work/life balance.
    no free stocks/stock options

    I made great money that I def deserved

    Cons

    No overtime and during events worked insane amount of hours. Spoke to from upper mgt with no respect. Offered raise then you work in new position and they don't give you your raise. Would be physically sick because you couldn't get two seconds to run to a rest room during an event. They always want more and you are DISPOSABLE. Corporate (upper mgt) was very sneaky. The company will do well but the staff at counters are trained that the more you scam your clients the better you are....its so atrocious!

    Remember where you came from and treat people with respect. Be true to your word!!

    free product, got to travel, meet new ppl, and was asked if i could work instead of being told i had to.

    Cons

    felt as though they were turning me into an old lady w the uniform requirements and the style-less t-shirts we sometimes had to wear. also the slow months w no work were rough, and no longer paying for travel.

    The products are great one of the best sun and body products ever made and easy to sell because its a reat product

    Management changed in the last 2 years It use to be the best company in the world to work for all about there people. NOT ANYMORE

    Management is not the some they are not hands on and don`t get it any more they just want to go by a hand book in retail that does not work u have to go with the flow if you want the business to grow and flourish and then asks what is going and have a BM that does not know there A from there elbow and thats a fact shame on them WISH THEM THE BEST! WONDER IF THE OWNER OR CEO OF THE USA OR WORLD Knows Phillip Shear or Chris John Clarins
