    Pros

Selling is easy, but you would have to sell the shoe, the accesories and the cleaning stuff too. There is opportunity to grow professionly. Sales Managers in Montehiedra Mall was great.

    Cons

Pay per hour is not that great.

I worked at Clarks full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent quality of life. Respectable product.

    Cons

Questionable future for what was once a great organization to work for. The last few years the company has been on an obvious downward decline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you continue to try to run store personel on the cheap it will catch up with the quality of the customer experience and from there the decline will become even more rapid..

  5. Nice environment. Most of the customers have history with clarks so shoes pretty much sell themselves.

I have been working at Clarks part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Discount on great shoes that can be used outside the work place.
You earn what you deserve if you're hired on commission.

    Cons

Business is good then bad. Bad then good.
    Short hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Workers should get more back on commission sales.

I have been working at Clarks full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros to this company. I started working for them in 2012 and I dedicated my time to this company, just so they can end up firing me. The reason I was fire was because my numbers "were low" but to be honest I met every sale goal. I even got a 100% in a mystery shop the month I was fire.

    Cons

    Work 45 hrs per week
    No pay raise
Managers get paid 300 per week plus a lame 2.3% in commission
People get promoted because they mess around with upper management
Upper management never communicates with in store managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish you luck. Specially if your in the SoCal area. And do not expect to get promoted if your not White. There are only white managers in this area

I have been working at Clarks (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, though I find that we are all getting more and more stressed daily. This is leading people to act out rather than work with their colleagues.

    Cons

Senior management, which means our regional presidents and every SVP around the globe, has no idea that their lack of trust and respect for employees is exactly what is driving the place down. If you treat people well and trust them, they will work harder for you and will be loyal to you as a company. There is so much micro management, and we have far too many consultants in the building telling us what to do. We used to have a corporate culture that focused on people and cared about people. That has been thrown to the side by people who've come in from 'big' global companies who think they know what they're doing. Look at the scores on this page. They've dropped substantially since this new leadership entered the picture. That is pretty telling. It's a very toxic environment that everyone is trying to escape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take a look in the mirror to see what is really wrong with the company. It all starts from the top. You are responsible for setting the tone 'Senior Leadership'. Get a clue!

    Pros

for the most part the co-workers get along. Lots of overtime if thats what interests you. Solid benefits package.

    Cons

I worked at Clarks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits package is amazing. The company helps their employees grow through computer purchase programs, educational reimbursement, and memberships into organizations that provide alternate income insurance (such as the Two-Ten program). Also, all departments are accessible for any questions you might have company-wide. This is becoming a little more controlled as time goes on, but individuals can ask questions from a variety of department heads if questions arise.

    Cons

There is a lot of whispering and HR seems to reprimand individuals on an inconsistent basis and for trivial things. Hard work does not move you forward or pay you more, it just gives the coworkers a head's up that you are capable of receiving more work (often times, theirs).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at who is actually working. Who is actually giving a requisite amount of time and effort for the money that they are being paid.
