    Pros

Commission allows you to make as much as possible it's a opportunity to bring a lot home as well as make connections especially in Albany

    Cons

Commission on a slow day it puts you on odds with your fellow employees so watch out for the Sharks in the water

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

I have been working at Clarks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits that are offered are very good. For the most part co-workers are nice. Great return customer.

    Cons

Working mandatory 44 hours a week and up to 50 or more during the holiday is ridiculous. Corporate isn't as organized as they lead us to believe. There are cliques within stores as well as the company. The ability to grow within the company is a long drawn out process unless you have the "experience". If you're not the SM or ASM but we the same hour don't look for any bonuses when budget is made quarterly. Overtime rate isn't the same every pay period.

    Advice to Management

The Third Key works just as hard and just as many hours as the SM and the ASM and should be treated the same including quarterly bonuses. Stores/management needs more stability.

I have been working at Clarks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

After six months in being promoted. Pretty excited to work for a company who recognizes their talent.

    Cons

Such a strong dependancy on commission makes for unreliable pay check amounts. Full timers have long work weeks at 44hr/wk

I worked at Clarks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Work Life Balance, great customer base, makes you feel like you are genuinely helping people out. Pay is good.

    Cons

Not a lot of benefits for part time, also the need to work Saturdays because that's the day you make the most money.

    Advice to Management

Provide base pay to everyone instead of just the management. Also provide better benefits to part timers.

  6. Pretty decent money, but a drama-filled sales job

I worked at Clarks (More than a year)

    Pros

I believed in the product I was selling, it was a fun and fast-paced environment, decent benefits, tons of potential for upward mobility, they do a decent run at philanthropy for a on organization each year

    Cons

44 hour workweek mandatory, quite a bit of turnover. you sometimes have to touch the feet of people who don't understand personal hygiene, I personally found my chain of command to be a "good ol' boys club" but that could just be me, you WILL bust your butt if you want to make money, not to mention that management has a lot of administrative work that you are basically not compensated for because you're not making sales

    Advice to Management

Personally I think the commission on shoes is pretty low. I also felt that women were kind of unwelcome at least in my district. Also, the "training calls" for new employees who had to call an employee in another store to learn how to do things was a waste of time; please stop that.

  7. The shoes sell themselves just go get them. If you want to capitalize on sales go home and learn more about the shoes.

I have been working at Clarks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Commission so more free time. Less time needed to make a weeks check. Small family like setting. Free shoe every year. And discounts on products.

    Cons

Commission so when its slow your check is yuck. People think clarks are just for older people that gets a little annoying after awhile.

    Advice to Management

    Raise commission. Advertise more.

    Pros

Most of the employees were friendly and cooperated with team work atmosphere. Great training from management and friendly customers. Great place to build selling and leadership skills.

    Cons

Management can give better support and cknowledgement to hard working employees. The hours are not too great, lack of reliable staff and better pay commission percentage.

    Advice to Management

Support your hard worker's more often. Don't show favoritism especially for the unreliable co workers Company needs to invest in caring for employees more often.
