    Pros

Good compensation, benefits, environment and people to work with. Truly enjoyed working here. Had lots of opportunity for personal growth. Very independent work but part of a great team.

    Cons

Last minute requests. People change their minds last minute. It was all about who you know, not what you know. Expected to answers calls/emails at all hours. Oh yeah, and they went out of business (filed for bankruptcy) without giving anyone a heads up - thanks!

    Advice to Management

Take some classes for business management.

    Pros

Work on cool new technologies. Perception that we can make a difference in the world. Lots of potential with possible future ownership.

    Cons

Horrible management. Motivated by self-interest rather than what is good for the company. Co-workers get rewarded for throwing others under the bus. Plenty of blame and "ownership" without authority.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying. Stop getting in the way with the corporate BS.

The company gave me a wide variety of tasks to complete, very self guided learning and growth. Good teamwork among colleagues. Mid-level management performed well.

    Cons

Funding, lack of funding, funds running out... etc... subsequent funding based layoffs

    I worked at ClearEdge Power

    Pros

A great group of employees doing everything they can to launch a new product. There were many days with long work hours, but when we achieved our customer requirements it was really satisfying.

    Cons

The CEO and his direct staff made decisions that did not make sense with the reality of what was going on with the business. Promises were made to employees that were never delivered, and the Venture Capitalist did not seem to know or understand the great breakthroughs and accomplishments that had taken place.

    Advice to Management

Be truthful and honest with employees - don't just give lip service. Be cautious when working for Venture Capitalists - their goals and objectives do not always align with yours.

The people were excellent to work with. Job was challenging and fun.

    Cons

Job uncertainty, management knew little about technology they were working with. Also knew too little about budgeting and finance.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves.

    Pros

Great product with potential to become profitable in the near future. Lots of intelligent and dedicated employees. Good pay and fair benefits. If the bankruptcy sale results in new management with the capability to create a profitable business this could be a good place to work once again.

    Cons

Company was finically mismanaged. Went bankrupt even though sales and technical development was proceeding to plan.
