    Reimbursement Specialist

    Reimbursement Specialist (Current Employee)
    Cleveland, OH

ProsPay well, Insurance is a little on the expensive side but better than many plans

ConsNot as good as they used to be form medical care, or to work for. Employees used to matter and now It's all about the poor management. Human Resources ignore employee complaints of the abusive manner management treat employee's.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn how to speak to their employees and treat them with respect. Learn enough of the positions you are supervising and managing in order to give excellent training and skills to new employees, or when employees have questions, they can be answered and not just ignored.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Registered Nurse, Admissions (Former Employee)
    Cleveland, OH

ProsTuition reimbursement. Interesting patients. Room for growth. Education. Opportunity to work with variety of people and cultures.

ConsPhysicians show little, if any, respect for nurses ( not all docs, but quite a few, Attendings in particular. Parking is always challenging and expensive

Advice to Senior ManagementPractice what you preach, and encourage positive relationships across all disciplines.

    Great Benefits,Too much red tape

    Financial Analyst I (Former Employee)
    Cleveland, OH

ProsNew employee's start out with 28 days of vacation (including holidays) and it gets bumped up to 35 days after 5 years. There is a partial MBA reimbursement. Employee's are very friendly and pleasant to work with.

ConsCompensation is below industry standards for similar positions (Financial Analyst). Management takes a long time to effect change as the structure of the organization does not allow for swift action. Raises are downright insulting.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't complete one size fits all performance reviews, allow for managers to compensate good employees adequately before they all leave.

    Typical hospital job and experience

    Clinical Technician (Current Employee)

Prosflexible schedule and encourages all staff input, close to public transportation, close to downtown, great management in most units, and once your foot is in the door it's easy to stay in with multiple opportunities to expand experience.

ConsPay is typically lower than other hospitals, and hospital systems. Management is hit and miss: I love my unit, but see how other units are suffering under inexperienced, or poor managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay flexible, encourage education of all levels of staff, and encourage interdisciplinary knowledge.

Cleveland Clinic is a great employer!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsEmployment with the Cleveland Clinic has great benefits:
Benefits, without a doubt, are top notch...the health insurance, vacation days, PTO, wellness program, and free Indians tickets and Browns tickets are just a few!
The physicians are recruited from the best medical schools and are top notch.
Cleveland Clinic is a leader in research and development, so there will always be innovative techniques to learn and take advantage of.
Room to grow..and they love hiring from within the organization.

There are Cleveland Clinics located around the globe, not only in Cleveland: Las Vegas, Toronto, Florida, Abu Dhabi to name a few. If you don't like Cleveland, apply at one of the other locations.

And...Cleveland Clinic looks great on a resume!

ConsHiring process is lengthy and time consuming.
