I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I worked as a Research Technician in the Lerner Research Institute for three years. The Cleveland Clinic takes very good care of their employees, and I always felt that my work was appreciated. I was proud to work for a company that is on the cutting edge of medical research and was well-respected among the global community.

    Cons

The pay wasn't that great, but I felt like the benefits and the joy of working there more than made up for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep innovating! It is so nice to see management who are so invested in constantly pushing the envelope in Medicine.

I have been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

flexible schedule and encourages all staff input, close to public transportation, close to downtown, great management in most units, and once your foot is in the door it's easy to stay in with multiple opportunities to expand experience.

    Cons

Pay is typically lower than other hospitals, and hospital systems. Management is hit and miss: I love my unit, but see how other units are suffering under inexperienced, or poor managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay flexible, encourage education of all levels of staff, and encourage interdisciplinary knowledge.

Former Employee - Financial Analyst I  in  Cleveland, OH
Former Employee - Financial Analyst I in Cleveland, OH

I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time for more than a year

    Pros

New employee's start out with 28 days of vacation (including holidays) and it gets bumped up to 35 days after 5 years. There is a partial MBA reimbursement. Employee's are very friendly and pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Compensation is below industry standards for similar positions (Financial Analyst). Management takes a long time to effect change as the structure of the organization does not allow for swift action. Raises are downright insulting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't complete one size fits all performance reviews, allow for managers to compensate good employees adequately before they all leave.
