I worked at Clorox full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

In brand management, this is second-to-none. Clorox is on-par with Procter in terms of training, and it was an amazing experience learning from the best.

    Cons

Some of the first-year AMM jobs include things like scheduling IMC team meetings, which can literally take half a day. Additionally, there is a lot of politics at Clorox that can make it a very incestuous place to work. In one year, 23 of 24 AMMs left for more lucrative opportunities in the burgeoning tech sector.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider what your competitive recruiting pool looks like - many of the brand/sales personnel could easily jump to tech, if early in career.

I worked at Clorox full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Clorox is just not a bleach company. It has great brands that exceeds expectations to the consumer. The company stays true to their statement.

    Cons

Very hard to move up. Upper level teams gets a lot of praise and recognition. The ACTUAL "do-ers" get limited recognition. Which explains why upper level team members get promotions and the ACTUAL worker just gets a pat on the back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice to management is to stick up for your staff. Recognize that they are hard workers and challenge them to excel in their position.

    Pros

Great training in fundamentals of marketing and brand management; smart, driven people who are fun and caring; stable career trajectory if you demonstrate competence

    Cons
