    I worked at Club Med

    Pros

Great people interaction, all lodging/expenses are taken care of, great team morale, LOT OF FUN!

    Cons

You will be working sometimes up to 80/100 hours a week depending on the time/village, job is life and life is job, low compensation of pay however you never really need to spend much money in the first place, 1 day off a week

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand how to be understanding of peoples first times of resistance as the job is overwhelming for some.

I have been working at Club Med

    Pros

Benefits are good and seems to be trending in the right direction. The office culture is nice and they are really employee friendly, put on a lot of events for the employees. Environment is fun and provides a lot of opportunity for travel.

    Cons

Must be french to get anywhere in a position that matters. Little chance of growth if not french. Also salaries are grossly underpaid compared to industry averages. Benefits do not compensate for the salary discrepancy.

    I worked at Club Med

    Pros

All G.O's are around the same age so if you're worried about making friends, don't be because it's easy.

    Cons

Expect to work 60 hour weeks and only get 1 day off. It's almost impossible to ever feel rested and 100%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees and don't treat them like you own them just because they live on property.

    Decent Corporate Life in Miami

Former Contractor - Corporate in Miami, FL
Former Contractor - Corporate in Miami, FL

I worked at Club Med as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

1: Health, Vision, Dental insurance provided.
2: 6 months to earn vacation benefits
    3: Excellent co-workers, environment supportive.
4: Vacation time is good (though I did not reach due to contract)

    Cons

1: To be honest, as an American worker the corporate culture was too French. There are a lot of ideas to be had but the fact that the north american branch is not a separate entity from the french, this limits the marketing and creative abilities of employees. In addition because there are plenty of French employees (corporate employees), many of the workers here are contracts, thus plenty of turnover.
2: Longer work hours/ Lunch Break? It seems like entire office is either afraid to leave after 8 hours worked (lunch not included) as many stay 9-10 hours...without being recognized for these efforts. Though I like the idea of people working longer and harder, these 9-10 hour days were not reinforced or talked about whatsoever. This may in fact be another French corporate principle that leads to confusion.
3: Not a lot of privacy here as you are planted next to a person via open style cubicle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Club Med has had the opportunity the separate themselves from the All-Inclusive arena, but they consider themselves Luxury based, thus higher pricing & conservative international marketing. I can say that if they continue down this path, they will be unable to compete with the inevitable all-inclusive cruises/resorts (in the NAM region) that will soon open travel to Cuba, and competitive pricing.

    Cons

Very low pay, very low commission..average of $1.50 per every $1,200. USD sold.. you do the math .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Club Med full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, fun and stress-free (for the most part) work. Can learn new activities. You get to live on a resort with buffet food. You have access to all the resort activities that are free for the guests.

    Cons

Company does not respect employees- they make false promises. Look after the French speaking first. Work 12 plus hours per day with only one day off a week with very little cash paid per month. No health insurance, just a 'reimbursement' of a percentage of your upfront cost.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect and appreciate your employees! Follow up with promises. Appreciate intelligence and talent, not just languages and seniority.
