    Pros

As a fitness professional I was able to get the students excited & interested in our physical activity for the day. When I smiled with enthusiasm & picked our leaders, we were ready!

    Cons

    Our teams got too competitive!

    Advice to Management

Follow the advice of Team Leads.

    Pros

Working in the fitness industry was great and every team has a great leader. Its important to find those people and collaborate if you want to get ahead.

    Cons

Although higher-ups appreciate the work, time and money saved the company did not value employee growth.

    Advice to Management

Value employee growth, invest time in great people and you will see the benefits of a strong company

    Pros

They are doing their best in a tough market -- still shying away from the preditorial nature of some of the lower end gyms.

    Cons

Losing share to Fitness SF and other gyms. Changes in the personal training market has eroded Club One's margins.

    Advice to Management

Consider some creative ways to stay relevant without stretching the brand too thin or resorting to lowbrow tactics.

    Pros

Club One tends to promote from within, so if you are a hard-working, dedicated employee they recognize that and give you opportunities to expand your knowledge in the health and fitness industry. The company has been sold to it's original founders and is now called "Active Sports".

    Cons

Lack of communication from the corporate office made it difficult to feel supported.

    Advice to Management

Communicate constantly with your employees to help them feel more supported

    Pros

Fantastic opportunity to affect people's lifestyles and build relationships.

    Cons

Company fell on difficult financial times.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time in the trenches to identify staff obstacles to success. Cut the fat from the very top of the executive chain. Reward those controlling costs than just those generating revenue.

    Pros

    Free membership
    Lots of locations
    Variety of instructors

    Cons

Absolutely horrible management. The current SF group fitness director is the worst I've ever seen.
They tried to have no group fitness manager for about a year, and the new one, RG, is worse than no one. There's no support at all.
Horrendous Equipment. As mics break, they just buy terrible ones.
The clubs are getting old and worn out.
Get the best starting salary you can: it's never raised.

    Advice to Management

Your best instructors are leaving over the terrible management of the place.
