    Pros

Rock Star Exec team! especially CEO and VP engineering are seasoned entrepreneurs. Have done may successful startups before. Great vision for the product and last year execution on the vision and strategy has met goals set by management. I enjoy working with the engineering team of such high energy and caliber.

    Cons

Unable to hire quality people at the required pace.

    Advice to Management

Great Marketing is as important as Great product, sometimes it is more important to have better marketing than the product!!

    Pros

Competitive pay, relaxed but focused work environment. Working on the product has been very rewarding and educational. Engineering is filled with incredibly smart people, and working with them has been awesome.

    Cons

The fact that engineering is split between Seattle and San Jose offers some challenges, but isn't too problematic. The complexity of the product and small team provides a lot of, "Ugh, how will I ever figure this out," moments, but that (hopefully) gives way to the pleasure of solving really difficult problems.

    Advice to Management

There are always ways to improve, and they are trying. For example, one of my first thoughts when I started was that engineering and marketing don't communicate enough, at a stage where marketing is the company's most pressing challenge. However, it soon became evident that the relevant decision makers also knew this as they took steps to improve it.

    Pros

I love it here, I'm committed to staying with Clustrix until we go public. No overbearing micromanagement, extremely intelligent employees, and, the most social engineers I've ever come across. What I love most about Clustrix is the people that work here. When you spend 40 hours a week in an office, you want it to be with good people that you can laugh with who also work hard; that's really what makes this experience (aside from the revolutionary database we keep building on). Awesome people, free snacks, unlimited sick time, 3 weeks paid vacation for everybody, Happy Hours every Friday, Bagels every Wednesday, holiday parties, a pool table, guitar hero... there's not much to complain about.

    Cons

The review process is almost non-existent and the office can be a ghost town because of the flexibility of people's schedules. Not much face time with San Jose, Seattle, and UK employees.

    Pros

I love the easy-going and understanding attitude of the management team and the excellent location in downtown San Francisco. Satellite offices in Seattle and San Jose also offer beautiful views and convenient locations downtown. There are great snacks and drinks and a lot of encouragement to have a healthy live-work balance and a healthy lifestyle. Management is afraid to make changes to make the company succeed or improve employee feelings about the company which is also important.

    Cons

Inter-Department mingling is lacking which is unfortunate in such a small space

    Pros

There always a lot going on, opportunities to learn, and a great team

    Cons

There is a steep learning curve for new developers

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing with the focused approach and investing in employees

    Pros

I enjoy working here because of the great team and a great opportunity to participate in difficult projects. We are always finding ways to improve the automation infrastructure and finding new ways to test some feature. Senior engineers are always willing to help regardless of their busy schedules.

    Cons

Difficult to find good help. Interview a number people that claim to be senior engineers. Also, there is a number of unfriendly people, so I'm not expecting to make new friends here.

    Pros

Intelligent coworkers, challenging projects, working with new and innovative technology . Being a part of a company creating an industry changing product is exciting.

    Cons

Potential risks from any startup (though much less with a quality / large target market), difficult to find qualified team members.

    Advice to Management

Not a lot to say. We're pushing forward in the right direction.

    Pros

Clustrix is in its adolescence, having a shipping product for over a year and many satisfied customers. Almost all customers are willing to be reference customers. You work with lots of smart people working on real-world problems that will remind you of your computer science classes in college. Great team work, no politics.

    Cons

As with almost every company I've worked with, can't hire enough people to do all the work in front of us.

    Advice to Management

The management team is great! Keep up the focus on growth.
