good
Pros
Very strategic company knows what ways to adjust to achieve goals. Great benefits paid on performance to promote quality of work.
Cons
Downsides to working for coach are some of the opportunities it has operational to be more "green". Should do more to contribute to recycling with in stores and minimize packaging.
Pros
Offered great discount and benefits, has good and friendly management and employees that you can comfortablely talk to , training on products, fun work environment
Cons
Too much on call shifts with not enough hours for seasonal employees. Short hours offered to seasonals, average about 4 hour per shift
Pros
If you are dedicated, there is room for growth.
Cons
There are very strict rules. Everything has to be in a coorporate manner. All business.
Advice to Senior Management
Understand that employees have personal lives.
Pros
Working at Coach is like working with an extended family. The benefits are great as well as their 401k plan and stock.
Cons
The only way to get promoted is if you are well liked. You could work very hard every single day, yet they still tell you it's not enough.
Advice to Senior Management
Management also holds onto too many things in the past when in retail you should always be moving forward.
Pros
With Coach, you get a great discount and work in a fun, competitive environment. The bonuses for making plan are nice on the wallet.
Cons
Upper management will motivate and prepare you for better opportunities only to lead you on and pass the promotions to someone else.
Advice to Senior Management
Please be mindful of the promises you make to your employees because when you don't follow through they will look elsewhere.
Pros
Discount is very generous
Salary is better than average for retail
Cons
Too many managers that don't know what they are doing
Very competitive sales people
Different rules for different people
No consistency from one manager to the next
Advice to Senior Management
Get a management team that can manage and all be on the same page and learn how to treat employees, not just select employees
Pros
It has got a senior management that is top notch - comparable to the best companies. Coach has navigated good and bad economic environments really well!
Cons
Depending on which group your working with - long hours could be norm.
Advice to Senior Management
A lot of knowledge and technical expertise are mostly kept inside a group or departments. One way to unlock this and make use of a facebook-like-chatter social network within the enterprise. It would certainly help with collaboration between teams.
Pros
Fantstic incentives and bonus structure. Easy to make bonuse monthy and year end
Profit sharing.
Good benefits.
Always looking for ways to improve. Listens to employee feed back. Has strong training program for new hires and ongoing employees.
Great discount.
Cons
Very high sales goals.
Expects managers to sell/ compete with associates.
Needs to change bonus structure for assistant managers so that it is more in line with higher level managers.
Needs to be competitive with pto. Offer one one PTO instead of 2 weeks vacation sick time. People can get rewarded for their reliability and others will not abuse e sick time policy when they are not sick
Advice to Senior Management
Coach was a great company to work for. The only suggestion I have is for HR to conduct exit interviews to help further better their current employees.
