I have been working at Coach

    Pros

I was paid very well. And the perks were nice (staff discount, sample sales, parties, etc.)

    Cons

This is a place where, who you know and are liked by is more important than the work you do. There are some senior leaders that should have been retired/left long ago, but are around because of their relationship with CEO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Move on!

I have been working at Coach

    Pros

Good health benefits minus the deductible you have to pay.
    Employee sales.
    Some people are very friendly.
    Some managers appreciate their employees.

    Cons

Nothing is secret - even HR issues are not secret.
A simple thank you is hardly ever received.
Workload is completely overwhelming and the pay does not balance out.
    Gossip, gossip, gossip.
Room for advancement & growth is less than spectacular.
Review process is not fair - submitted to managers, senior managers and NY HR before presented to you (no matter what you say you cannot change the outcome of your review).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. HR issues need to remain as HR issues and not be spread around to others who are uninvolved in the situation.
    2. Learn to value your employees.
    3. Information & transfer of knowledge is impossible when team leaders are difficult to work with.
    4. When numerous complaints have been made & suggestions about team leaders have been presented, please listen to the things that the team & others say.

    I worked at Coach

    Pros

Good team, no pressure job, nice management. People are very nice to each other.

    Cons

Low paying job, bonus is like 50 cents or 1 dollar more per hour. It is too low to support life in California.
Coach pays low because they think Coach products are good so you do not have to "sell" them.
Most sales associates are part times so they do not need to pay your insurance.
    Long hours standing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company should pay better, the pay check is a joke for hard working adults.

I have been working at Coach

    Pros

The best reasons to work at Coach is the discount, work/life balance and also the people. Compared to other retailers, the discount is GREAT! You are able to work and still afford to buy items. Also the work/life balance is good. They expect you to do your job but also they understand time with family. You will meet some of the best person here.

    Cons

Slower advancement (That is because no one leaves!)
Pay - Which is always hard in retail
Sometimes lack of feedback for personal growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more recognition to the people who work for you, every little bit goes a long way!

Monthly bonus if your team makes goal or plan.
    Good discounts

    Cons

    Need to have work/life balance.
Unfair promos.......its about who you know instead of your skills.
Starting salary is not that good. Make sure you get your money when you 1st get in.

    I worked at Coach

    Pros

This company is always about putting customer relations first. I obtained many skills and knowledge while working with this company.

    Cons

During my time working with this company, I did not come upon many downsides at all. The management was always helpful, and our general manager did a great job with employing the right type of employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no advice to the leadership of Coach. This company is great with leading, teaching, and employing the right type of people.

    I worked at Coach

    Pros

There is great leadership from up top, which really trickles down. There is a focus on personal and professional development. In addition, it's great working for a company that is doing well and has such a loyal consumer base.

    Cons

Work/life balance is very different in each department - you either have too much to do or nothing to do. As anywhere else, favorites are played, which can be frustrating to those who work hard (which is just about everybody).

    I worked at Coach

    Pros

    - Teamwork is encouraged, especially when there are store contests.
    - Everyone is treated well and given lots of encouragement.
    - Great discounts are given.
    - The products were always promoted in a way that got employees excited to sell.

    Cons

    - Depending on your position level, getting vacation time can be difficult.
    - There weren't enough hours given to work when it wasn't the holiday season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to keep encouraging your employees because it's always needed when selling products. Maintain the high standards because it definitely affects the workers and the store.
