I worked at Coach full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Nice people, all the employees were nice to work with and would hang out after work. The manager and assistant manager were nice and helpful.
They would do these "talks" were they would read a sale scenario and you had to tell them what you would say to the customer to get them to buy more product. They were a little cheesy, but not bad.
You got 50% off discount off of the outlet price and 40% off the retail price.
They give you daily sales goals that aren't to out of reach.

    Cons

    The holiday hours suck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

send new music more often. Listening to the same 12 songs all day everyday for a month straight will drive you crazy.

I have been working at Coach part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The management team is always open to suggestions, they take care of you and listen to your needs. Always helping you improve. Flexible schedules! A lot of room to grow in the company

    Cons

Goals sometimes might look unreachable, and no bonus will be made for the month. Too many on-call shifts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rotate the schedules! All people should work once in a while, i get it if maybe there are no hours to give but cut some full time and make space for part time. Its fair and everyone wins.

I worked at Coach full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Discount and bonus program. Structured company and on boarding.

    Cons

Pay for everyone but store manager is lower than other high end retailers. Expectations are extremely high for the pay of a sales associate. Nothing is good enough even if you are achieving numbers. Full Price went to extreem couponing which then in turn lowered customer demand. Stress is high on in store team to make unachieveable goals. They hire for looks not ability. Do you have the "coach" look?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes because you will continue to lose smart people. The longevity within Coach is become a 1y stay vs. a 8+y stay. Can't you see retention is low. Look at district and regional management to find the cause of this issue.

I worked at Coach full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good discount. Rack up paid vacations pretty quick. Great insurance. Sadly that's it.

    Cons

I don't know where to begin. No manager there is happy because all of us were not trained from the get go. Upper management expects us to communicate well when we don't even know what we are talking about. They don't have time to train us so we were told to train ourselves. The company micro manages and wants its managers to micro manage. I am not a micro manager and I don't like hounding my staff every 15 minutes about their sales and asking "have you talked to that customer? Why hasn't your SPH gone up?" We weren't making our ridiculously high numbers in our FIRST year, so they lowered our goal. Now that we are making the numbers, you want to lower it again and take more hours? Because we aren't making last year numbers? Again, WE'VE BEEN OPEN A YEAR. At one point we had no GM, SM or DM. All at the same time. I can't tell you how many managers have been cycled through. People are quitting every week because rules change every week. Honestly, Coach really disappointed me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TRAIN YOUR STAFF. Set some time aside to train a new store. Even customers can see it's easy to get overwhelmed there.

    Pros

Learn to work at a fast pace. The hours are flexible and we all work as a team. Can learn multiple jobs throughout the store. It has lots to offer if you want to consider to stay with the company.

    Cons

the challenge here is that you need to be consistent. You need to learn the products and know how to up sell all the time. Even though you don't run off commission, the company still has its goals to make.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

depending on certain manager, sometimes there need to be better communication with their employees
