Pros
Working at a locals casino like Coast gets your foot in the door of the casino business. As a dealer or cocktail waitress, you're typically not going to start at a Strip property - you're going to have to start at a pub or a locals casino. Coast is the much-smaller group of locals casinos compared to Station, which is the 800-lb gorilla. Plus, with Station's presence ever expanding into more upscale properties like Red Rock, Station is a far better choice to begin your casino career.
Cons
In 2006, Coast became a part of Boyd Gaming, one of the worst gaming companies for employee relations. This company is especially bad if you're in any kind of trade union.
Advice to Senior Management
Get back to your core business - take care of your customers AND your employees. Saving a dollar isn't worth it if you lose customers because of it. You also can't keep quality employees if you treat them like indentured servants.
