I have been working at Coast Hotels & Resorts part-time for less than a year

    Pros

GREAT banquet management - Shawn is a good guy and will train you well. Very basic responsibilities and great pay for what is required of you. Free banquet quality meals for employees after shifts.

    Cons

Union position means MINIMAL work hours (around 8/wk) until you've been there 2+ years. By all means keep this as a weekend job and establish seniority, but DO NOT quit your weekday job. You'll be doing a lot of setting up/moving tables and chairs, but it's by no means stressful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire fewer servers, or at least be clearer about new employees getting next to no hours. Otherwise, keep it up!

I worked at Coast Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

Easy to request needed time off.
Upper managers are willing to sit down to discuss issues with low-level employees.

    Cons

Upper-management shows unfair bias towards the Sales Department.
Yearly raises are substandard (well below the rate of inflation).
There is a great deal of favoritism - where some employees get away with seriously abusing other employees, along with other misconduct.
A few department-heads are both belligerent and incompetent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be fair!
