    Pros

Great product, wonderful people to work with. Made you feel good to be part of a company that had such great products.

    Cons

The pay was OK, a little low for the area. Also a lot of change recently when they were bought by a large company; things changed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communcating to employees is key; offer consistent job reviews instead of haphazard (some departments did them regularly, others did not).

Too many changes, too many meetings, too much micromanagement and too many layoffs.

    I worked at Coastal Training

    Pros

The money and benefits were good and most people were very nice. Taking time off was no problem at all.

    Cons

*No upward mobility. Very few raises and promotions.
*Micromanagement. Even if your sales goals were being met, you were still put under a microscope in other areas such as call volumes and length of time on the phone.
*Backstabbing coworkers, but hey, that's sales.
*My biggest bone to pick was that offices were opened overseas to increase profit margins, which meant that many Americans lost their jobs to people living in India and the Philippines. The idea was that people overseas in India and the Philippines work for MUCH LOWER wages. Why pay an American big bucks when you can open up an office overseas and pay foreigners much lower wages.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Close the foreign offices and bring the jobs back to America. I have no idea what the few managers there did. They mainly went to meetings and micromanaged their subordinates. Other than that, they were useless.

    Pros

Great training program. They encourage growth and creativity. Not sure how they are since the acquisition by DuPont a few months back.

    Cons

Dialing for dollars many time. They have a high turnover so clients get frustrated with new people coming on board.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less micromanagement at the team levels. Perhaps better interviewing would filter out people not fit for the portion in the first place.

Junior Management should undergo leadership training and some should do more on managerial training

    I worked at Coastal Training

    Pros

environment is great. options to move forward could be forseen as soon as you get in just a bit discouraging that sometimes that the junior management people are working way over above their heads.

    Cons

some people's skills are not recognized and left stagnant instead of utilizing it for the growth of the company.waste of talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

some managers are way above their head. creating their own little republic that they govern. not to mention the incosistency of judgement.
