    Pros

    Excellent training
Four 12 hr shifts to choose from allowing for 3 day weekends every other week. Great benefits.

    Cons

Employees have to work dispatch radio and take 911calls at same time.
Pay too low for major stressful work

    Advice to Management

Hire call takers so they can focus all attention on the emergency caller and then have separate dispatchers to focus only on the multiple units going to multiple calls. It improves the safety and information accuracy of all involved. The Job turn-over rate of people not lasting a year would not be so high if this was done.

    Pros

It's a great opportunity to learn how to use equipment like: ROW Machines, Zero Turns and Weed Eaters. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

Getting hired on is a looonggg drawn out process. Management is somewhat disorganized and we are underpaid. Much of the workers here are fairly old (45+ and up) and there is a poor work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a decent wage. Acknowledge them every once in a while. Motivate your employees to take some pride in the county.

I worked at Cobb County Government

    Pros

Cobb County is a great place to work, live and play. Employment available for every level of expertise in most every field of work. Great parks and recreational facilities.

    Cons

Promotional opportunities limited at times, but that is typically because employees often stay until retirement.

    Advice to Management

Doing things the same way because it was successful in the past doesn't always make it the best strategy for today. Embrace new technology.
