Pros
The pay is nice and have some decent benefits. If physical labor is your choice, this is it and will help keep you in shape. The hours can be nice if you pace yourself and prepare to actually work.
Cons
Sometimes the company's decisions are very questionable. The hours can be long on certain days or if the weather conditions are bad. No year end bonuses. All of the physical labor is very demanding and can take a toll on your body over time.
Pros
nice management
friendly environment to work in
Cons
not much room for advancement if you happen to be a woman
Advice to Senior Management
hire more women and treat them equally
Pros
Salary is $40K-$45K
Benefits are decent
Turnover is high (for good reasons), but that makes this an easy job to get if you need one
You work in different accounts everyday and get to interact with a wide variety of people
Cons
Coke does not pay standard overtime, instead they pay VROT, which works out to about $5 an hour. Consequently, they work their merchandisers to death, and then to add insult to injury, they hold many long-winded meetings, filled with information which could easily have been condensed into a short email and dishonest propaganda. Management is constantly trying to reinvent the wheel instead of just letting their workers do their jobs. This is a company that definitely thinks punishing and hypercriticizing people is cheaper than rewarding them. In 2011, they announced major changes to how merchandisers do their jobs. Managers now track merchandisers with GPS. They also required merchandisers to work 6 days on, 2 off, until many people quit, including myself. Then they switched to a system where many full-time workers were forced to become part-time workers without benefits. Who knows what's next? One thing is guaranteed. Life for workers at CCBCC is going downhill fast.
Advice to Senior Management
You are everything that is wrong with corporate America. We are not your slaves. Bring your attitudes toward workers out of the 19th century.
Pros
Day time hours and good pay for high school diploma. Get paid weekly and are fully invested when you are first hired.
Cons
Very hard work, driving your own car and work 6 weeks to get a weekend off. Only get 2 sick days a year and 1 personal day.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to be more family oriented. Give positive reinforcement. Offer more incentives.
Pros
Good pay for not having to have college degree, can support a family decently.
Can advance professionally within company.
Cons
Bulk Merchandisers work 60hrs a week during warm season.
Pros
OK benefits ok pay but you have to kill yourself for 50,000.00 a year
Cons
Upper management is horrible they are so out of touch with their supervisors, employees and the customer. By far the most negative place I have ever worked. If you have to work for coke make sure its a union branch because you really need protection from the so-called intelligent people
Advice to Senior Management
GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTTS AND SEE WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO GO THROUGH ON A DAILY BASIS SO YOU CAN AFFORD YOUR LUSH LIVING.
Pros
I loved working at Coca-Cola because it gave me the ability to make a great wage without an education. You will work very hard and will have many long days but if you are looking to stay in shape and build up your savings, this is the place.
Cons
Although I enjoyed my time there, I did notice an extremely high turnover rate. I never could get a straight answer why. The bosses said it was usually for lying or stealing. The employees usually said it was wrongful termination, however, for my time I never saw any actual cases of wrongful termination filed.
Pros
My direct supervisor is great. The name Coke on my resume. Location.
Cons
Some other supervisors think they are better than the workers. Passive-aggressive is how I would describe the leadership team. They don't plan very well and implement changes with out explaining why they occur.
Advice to Senior Management
Very pleasant but not the brightest group of people I have ever worked for. Communication needs improvement. Numbers in CAC are meaningless because they are not weighted based on the Nashville floods or Gulf disaster or the different regions being having more resources than others, like Charlotte vs Gastonia. Popular employees get plum positions and less popular (older employees) get the less likely positions where they might succeed.
Pros
Fast paced, never dull work enviroment. Good team work in most places.
Cons
From 2008 on they have really cut back- closing facilities and cutting back costs. As a result senior management has used this excuse to put the squeeze on their employees as well as their customers- examples inc. taking away company cars, having a gas surcharge - none of which Pepsi has.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to get back to what made you what you were- a customer and employeed focused company. CCBCC was never a low priced leader (and still isn't) but they are are attempting to cut costs to the bone at the expense of their people. Sadly Frank Harrison as nice as he is, does have a clue.
Pros
Employees are appreciated and there are oppurtunities for growth to those that need more than just a check but recognition as well
Cons
Even though opportunities of growth are there it still takes too many years for career advancement.Hard work is rewarded though
Advice to Senior Management
Support and appreciate your employees.Great leaders influence and motivate at the same time.Your employees are the greatest asset you have
