I worked at Coca-Cola Company part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Excellent team, very friendly and eager to help, very interesting problems, understanding of Excel and SQL and big data manipulation, many activities organized at the Atlanta headquarters for employees

    Cons

At times disorganized and too large to understand all aspects of supply chain. Not many cons, mostly a great place to work and to start a career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More organized and defined responsibilities for interns and Co-ops. More networking opportunities beyond one's own division and team. Training programs that help understand excel, sql, six sigma, etc.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Company as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Many people think designing for Coca-Cola means you have one brand and just one story to tell but this is so not true. This one company has so many brands built within it - Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Fanta, Surge, etc and these brands are worlds apart from Coke Trademark - providing great exposure to a variety of projects. The brand and marketing team has brilliant people to work with, they truly hire the best of the best. The day-to-day can be a little hectic and flat-lined but there are so many opportunities to realize how great of a company it is and how lucky you are to be part of magic that is Coca-Cola.

While as a contractor you do not get benefits or paid time off you are locked into 40 hours a week. This may sound bad but it makes for great work/life balance. Many designers on my team had their own design businesses on the side, had three or four other projects going, had time to break away from the busy work environment to achieve other goals.

    Cons

As a contractor you get great exposure to many things, however there are no benefits, no paid time off, no overtime, can not work on weekends, you can work from home but all work from home must be done on your personal computer, there are no laptops for contractors. Becoming a full-time employee is difficult. Was hard to determine what I was truly working towards as a designer/individual. The company is also going through a major re-org. so things are a bit messy internally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide the designers an environment to play, experiment, create outside of the computer and quick turn around times.
