I have been working at Coca-Cola Company full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Company has ok benefits. I performed as a District Sales Manager for On Premise accounts for Coca-Cola Refreshments (bottler)
Lots of flexibility in the field. The company promotes within. Job security is good.
The job is fun. Hours are good. No weekens.

    Cons

pay is not that great. Your pay increases for promotion are barely 10%, which means it can take many years and many promotions to gain higher pay. Newer highers are getting higher pay, and there is no way to negotiate once you are in the system.

CCR states that they are big on promoting and developing, but there are a lot of politics and favoritism
the company has changed management structure annually, which has meant job cuts, so there is uncertainty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stated values are good. Empower managers to make decisions.
Become less stratified in management. Allow managers to promote their people.

  2. Love my job but...Friends and family management network are counter-productive to a good working environment.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

3 weeks vacation from date of hire, matching 401k, employee appreciation events, working for the most recognized brand in the world.

    Cons

.20 raises, No communication, inept supervisors, Lies...lies...and lies...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management at the plant level should be based on skill sets and not friendships. Quality employee retention requires more than a "my way or the highway" attitude. What exactly does HR do?

I have been working at Coca-Cola Company

    Pros

I like working hard, so the work doesn't bother me. Friendly co-workers have been a plus! I like dealing with my accounts and satisfying their needs from our company.

    Cons

You aren't payed enough for the liability you hold along with the labor you provide. In order to get a worthwhile route someone has to retire. No pay raises on your commission or base pay. Only 5 paid days off after 1 year and at 6 years you get an extra day and then 7 at 7 until you reach 10 years you max out at 10 days paid off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the value and hard work of an employee, then use that to reward them for their quality.

I worked at Coca-Cola Company full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company listens to it's front line employees and makes changes in a timly matter to remedy an problems. Great Benefits (18 days PTO plus option to choose additional unpaid TO at begging of year). The people that work there are quality individuals and will help out with anything and not complain. It's a family company. A lot of families work there and there is very little turn around. Employees stay for life.

    Cons

Lots of confusion as to what sales priorities are. They seem to change every week. Sales associates have too many stores to properly service accounts the way Coke wants you too. There is a lot of bad communication between departments (merchandising, distribution and sales)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more account managers (especially large store). 11 - 13 stores per person is too many to give the customer service the company expects.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Everybody thinks you work for a great company and envies you.

    Cons

The pay is average, the benefits a little better than average, but your job is always subject to the yearly cuts. It doesn't matter if you've been there a year or 30, you can be let go. CEO makes a proclamation of "we're going to cut $100 million from our budgets. Just a number he pulled out of a hat. So you're gone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop worrying about the numbers on Wall Street. Concentrate on the consumer market and make a better product instead of fighting the "corn syrup and caramel coloring is bad for you" argument. The product will sell if people don't think they will get cancer from drinking it.
