Pros
Great growth path because it is a large company.
Cons
May be hard to get answers to questions because so big.
Advice to Senior Management
I will start soon...so no comment.
Pros
Great Brands, Talented People, Good structure around expectations relative to performance
Strong benefits package & pension
Cons
Ruthlessly driving out costs ( including compensation)
New Sr Mgt driven by Stock price ...not brand building...they will be out in 3 years
Advice to Senior Management
Proceses can't replace the fact that this is still a people/relationship business at the core
Pros
great for a starter job
Cons
great for a starter job but dont expect a career
Advice to Senior Management
actually look into local talent
Pros
great product line customers love the brand lots of great innovations good marketing company moving towards better community involvement and sustainable green goals
Cons
very poor communication between management and staff even worse between key accounts and national account representatives information arrives late or not in time to be utilized very little team work every man for himself attitude new hires not adequately trained high turnover
Advice to Senior Management
improve new hire training process more one on one coaching more attention to work life balance to retain good employees get more employee feedback on methods and proceedures lots of overlack and duplication of effort
Pros
Company will be here forever
Don't really have to worry about company closing
Big Name
Nice co workers
Nice vacation package.
Cons
merchandising to "promotion" to Acct manager, but got pay CUT. Trained temp workers making higher salary than myself.
Losing vehicles, but told when hired part of salary, not getting compensated fairly.
Very long days usually 12+ hour days plus travel time.
Breakdown to hours/pay ratio terrible
Advice to Senior Management
Talking down to employees doesn't work well. Think of middle and lower employees more. EX: Christmas party starting at Noon on a week day? New Company is cheap !!!!
Pros
Benefits are decent, and one of the few remaining pension plans. That is if they keep you..
Cons
Over worked under paid, Very poor communication, No one has your back, Some supervisors are very petty and instead of getting a pat on the back for knowing what your doing, they use personal viewpoints against you.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay away...
Pros
-Great benefits
-Superior brands
-Pension
-Stable company
-Pay is ok
Cons
At this point marketing people are running the company. The company is more about image, than sales. Many people are in positions, but are clueless as to how to manage people. Also, micro-management is the rule, and not the exception.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to your roots. The job is not about "x's and o's"; It is about people. Excellent sales execution can only be achieved through your people.
Pros
Most of the time your out working on your own. Good vacation plan, and they dont give you a hard time if you need a day off.
Cons
it's never enough, they always want more..more and even more. they promise the world and never deliver. I was promised a raise 3 times and never got one. when you approach them with a problem they sugar coat it to the point where you give up. their pay structure is the worst I have ever encountered, someone starting now makes $2,000 more then someone who has been there for over two years.???? how does that happen?
Advice to Senior Management
get a set and stop agreeing with upper managment about everything they want to do. Your my store bull crap is useless and only makes employees upset. you should focus on your customers more and create value through aggresive marketing, not coupons.
Pros
Pays very well and bonus is great.
Cons
Read the book Art of War and apply that there and you will be successful. Trust no one.
Advice to Senior Management
Spend less time on passing the buck, creating drama and politics and more on results.
Pros
The pay is acceptable and the job security is adequate. Decent vacation time.
Cons
Coke cares nothing about employees. I have been there well over 15 years and here is the bottom line. It used to be a great place to work but now, they would rather have new employees who do not do the job as well than to value the good, long-term employees. The turnover is ridiculous and management seems to be oblivious to the fact they are losing good employees at a high rate. The health insurance goes up every year...nearly $400 a month now. No reward for being an outstanding employee. The bad employees get the same treatment as the good employees. Management never questions decisions made. They follow through with ignorant practices even if they know its wrong. Rather than questioning it to their superior, they just say "yes." Far too many "yes" men and women in the company. Coke wants robots, not thinkers. The company is successful despite themselves. If you want to be valued as an employee, this is not the place for you.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow some constructive debate among management. Allow managers to manage without constant micromanagement. If someone can be trusted to be an account manager, they should be allowed to "manager" their accounts. Treat long term employees as if they are a commodity and not a liability. The bottom line is that employees will work harder for a company that treats them with respect than they will for a company that threatens their job on a constant basis.
