Good ole boys club. If you're in good for you. If not good luck.
Advice to Senior Management
Open your eyes and see where the real issues are. To many people only look out for themselves.
Pros
Well established company that has the most recognized brand. You get a lot of experience and opportunity to meet new people and build the band.
Cons
You will work long hours which take away from your personal life. Will be required to work some weekends as well.
Pros
The name says it all. When you say "I work at Coca Cola", eyes widen and jaws drop. "Wow, what's that like???"
Cons
Everyone thinks it is great to work here, but there is much more than it seems. Employees are not all that happy.
Pros
great people, diverse workforce, experienced leaders, dynamic business
Cons
large workload, complex organizational politics
Pros
Name recognition
In this economy, "it's a job"
Cons
Insurance cutbacks
Vacation day cutbacks
Compensation cutbacks
No work-life balance
Constantly expected to be on call
Late nights and weekends expected
Excessive micromanagement
Senior Management is very patronizing, mean-spirited
Input is not encouraged
Duplication of work
Bloated bureaucracy
Pros
Medical & dental in competitive alignment with other CPG companies.
Opportunities to have a direct impact on increasing volume, market share and brand distribution.
Working in a very fast paced environment can help one become better at time management.
Cons
You will be completely micromanaged if you don't make your numbers. The response is to "sell it in" but middle management does not have solid training and genuine support in place to aid staff.
Account Mangers need better sell-in options; flexibility, creativity, autonomy are key weaknesses.
Market Vision - by far one of the most tedious processes in self-monitoring/auditing displays sold.
IT - extremely weak tools to perform the job. CCR must invest properly with better notebooks that offer more friendly administrative functions and a operating system that generates analytic reports. AMs need better leverage when discussing business trends & solutions with store management.
Too many weekly meetings and huddle calls that provide no relevant value for the sales force.
The dynamics between Operations (Drivers and Merchandisers) and Sales is slowly improving but too often the blame gets placed on Account Managers shoulders, when in reality their DSMs should learn how to provide better support. The focus is too much on blaming verses offering solutions!
Advice to Senior Management
Advice to Senior Management
Stop micromanaging- it makes sense why more and more are less motivated.
Acknowledge that we are not paid for things we do not sell (i.e., use of personal vehicle, our time spent at plant, or any other administrative work) ALL those things take up a HUGE portion of our time/resources. Learn to respect and treat Account Managers time and efforts with greater care.
Pros
Benefits are ok, but employees are forced to cover more of the cost every year. Name recognition coca cola. Build relationships with stores and folks outside coca cola.
Cons
Long hours. Micromanagement , low pay, loss of company vehicle, constant pressure by management to increase sales thru a slow economy. company out of touch with employess concerns. no work life balance. 10-11 hour days all the time, equals no balance. Whatever you accomplish is never enough. loss of bonus, accountable for things you have no control over. How many meetings do we really need a week? does anyone realize how long it takes to do this job
Advice to Senior Management
Management out of touch with the actual day to day challenges of its front line workers. Get out and see what obstacles the employees face daily. New pay structure, get ready for the turnover as its all ready started.
Pros
Coca-Cola has a great company reputation, they treat their employees with respect and dignity and reward their employees fairly.
Cons
Base Compensation is compared to other companies of similar size.
Advice to Senior Management
na
Pros
#1 brand in the world
Exposure to some interesting ideas
Cons
NO work life balance; while leadership says it wants to hear differing opinions they really don't and will put you in your place
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees more than you listen to consultants and suppliers
