A once great company has lost it's way (it's called ERDMAN)...

    Pros

The history is cool, average workers are great, work-life balance is decent, and has a really nice home office.

    Cons

Senior management is among the most clueless I've seen. They treat employees like idiots, first letting people go 2-3 per week due to "performance", and then had a mass layoff to "right-size" months later. It's lost hundreds of employees in a few years, the CEO (not Scott Ransom - that is the old CEO) leaves a lot of leadership to be desired, and it shows. They tell you they pay bonuses based on performance...but don't say they haven't paid a bonus in years. There is no employee development plan. Employees don't trust them anymore. Every single corporate support person left in 2013 due to culture (not kidding).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Too late.

    Pros

Some really good people to work with, fellow employees treated you like family, but to upper management you are just a number

    Cons

Upper management has no idea where it is headed, they are trying to "change the culture" as they say, they have laid off over 200 employees the last 5 years, most who where there when the company was making 150 million a year in profit, now it is at 30 million. They recently laid off another 30 people so they could give raises and bonus to those who are left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Madison, WI

    Pros

Competivie pay and benefits; Structured project process; Established standards; Excellent IT and technical support; Recognizes and promotes characteristics consistent is maintaining a positive company culture

    Cons

Limited work schedule flexibility; Poor in-house collaboration due to consistent tight project schedules; Too much emphasis on individual vs. team accomplishments

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no established mentorship program. A mentorship program would promote a faster learning curve for new employees in terms of understanding and applying a project's process and established standards. Technical mentorship would also lead to better growth within the technical disciplines.
