Pros
You can manage you work timings . No one questions when you come in and leave (But you would be working overtime 90% of time)
Employee friendly policies. Most of the managers are friendly
Good opportunities . You get to learn a lot
Lots of training provided
If you are in a good domain you get to learn a lot.
Cons
Bad appraisal process. You would be promised something and getting something else. Your manager would never know what you are going to get since ratings are discussed across verticals and they have a predefined set of promotions in an account. Hence you would not be promoted even though you are already doing the job of next level
Advice to Senior Management
If no good ratings could be provided for great employees at least give a pat.
Pros

- Good for freshers who start their career in Cognizant
- Good for those who are hired in the US

Cons
Bad Project quality, bad planning
No Job Rotation; very difficult to change projects
Onsite Opportunity very few. Those working onsite stay permanently.
Inefficient Talent management
Advice to Senior Management
Talent management should be efficient in allocating right resource to the right projects. Recent changes in the reporting structure creates lot of confusion.
Often, poor project management leads to increased work load, overtime, and monotonous jobs. Strongly advice the management to bring up the quality of the projects at par with its tier 1 competitors.
Pros
Pays high to new joinees, but gives pennies to those who stay for long. Brand value and recognition for the employees outside cognizant is very high.
Cons
Human resource management always relies upon and follows the feedback given by its managers and individual employees' feedback, complaints are ignored or suppressed. You can be happy by the time you waive your tail infront of your manager.
Advice to Senior Management
Management hires people from across india, but is not able to preserve individual's self-respect and pride in the company. Decisions made by managers regarding project allocation and onsite opportunities are always biased towards people from particular community.
Pros
- Among the IT services companies, their pay is better than average.
- Generally good work culture
- Good forward looking vision at the management level
Cons
- Promotions can be more aggressive for employees who show the hunger to succeed
- They stick to very traditional models of service delivery and costing
Advice to Senior Management
- Create a more robust infrastructure to encourage working remotely
- Have strict policies about work-life balance management
- Encourage sports & art more

Bit of politics in promotions. You need to show up what you did. Lots of non technical people in manager roles. Very low pay.

Be transparent in the performance reviews and promotions process. Treat employees as assets and not just as resources to get mileage out of. Managers should have a vision for each associate and should also act as a mentor.
