2. Flexible timings
3. Flexible domain/technology change
4. Job security
Cons
1. Salaries are not according to market standards
Pros
Good work culture, chance to get some good work to do. Rewards good work with appreciation and recognition and treats performers well
Cons
Large organization, so processes can be annoying. Benefits etc may not be as great as with some other companies but improving
Advice to Senior Management
Could do more to retain talent and grow leaders from within the company rather than hire laterals to key positions frequently
Pros
Flexi work hours
Unlimited learning oppurtunity
Competent management
Brand
Cons
Pay structure
Too much of travelling
Advice to Senior Management
Keep investing. That's what makes us & cognizant compettive.
Pros
Work-Personal Life Balance. Good internal opportunities.
Cons
Promotions do not happen quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Good Management
Pros
not too riveting , stress free,
Cons
location concerns with different streams concentrated to different cities and you will be forced to move
Pros
Chilled place to work with young professionals
generally no hectic timings(although this depends on project)
easy to get onsite opportunities in 3 yrs fr freshers..
lot of fun/entertainment activities..
Cons
less salary, less bonus..
less knowledge and experience acquired..
Pros
-good technical growth
-good bidirectional growth structure which enhances your technical/domain skills
-fair hike and best in the service industry package structure thru which you get maximum take home
-flexible work timings
-good onsite opportunities
-nice work culture where you get fair amount of freedom on various things
-various internal classroom training programs/online trainings
Cons
-since it is service oriented co. you get a chance to work on various technologies where you can not focus on one and be master of it..
-more weight on the development and deliveries rather processes which makes sometimes un-necessary pressure on the team..so still this co. needs some amount of time to get completely process oriented.
Advice to Senior Management
Having the fact that Cognizant is one of the fastest growing IT co. my advise is co. should start focus more into the processes also. Due to lack of processes, teams un-necessarily work under pressures and without overall transparency.
Pros
Hard work is rewarded.
Internal Communication is good
Energetic atmosphere
Good training facilities (Mandatory 40 hours per year)
Approachable Management
Onsite opportunities
Great CSR activities undertaken under Everest and Outreach programmes
Cons
Long working hours
Late night transport follows weird logic
Lower pay as compared to peers
Tamil is the medium of communication in most project/Team meetings
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more in the lower end employees(PA and PAT) who earn the bread and butter for the company. Pay should be on par with peers
Pros
Good work culture
Promotion system is not all about luring the manager. Has a good amount of dependency on your actual performance
Project specific regulations.
Cons
Management sometimes acts weird
Not much bench scenarios
Doesn't have a lot of appearance in North India. mostly spread in South (Chennai)
