    I worked at Cognosante full-time

    Pros

It was a small office. Everyone was helpful and tight-knit. It was an amazing place to work. Management was understanding and knowledgeable. There was always something for you to do to help out. Work-life balance. I worked M-F and was home before supper every night.

    Cons

I do not have any. This was my favorite job I have had.

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company is assisting CMS with the implementation of the ACA.
So there's plenty of work to go around. Rapid growth for small company means lots of opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

Things are moving so quickly so this is not a place where people do not like change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some of the people are fun to work with. Wait? Fun? You can't laugh or talk without being yelled at.

    Cons

Everything! I've been yelled at in front of other employees, threatened with my shift transfer, and treated horribly by teammates. I was sexually harassed and nothing really was done about it. Employees are treated like they are nothing. Other employees are vindictive and try to get you fired. Way too many people are on drugs. Its ridiculous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be respectful of employees. Talk to them like human beings and not trash. Communicate effectively with other supervisors.

I worked at Cognosante as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

None, N/A, non-existent, required to submit at least 5 "pro's"

    Cons

Nothing they say OR put into writing is honored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Worked for this company as a temp. Was hired as a "nights-only" employee so I quit my night job. Then they changed it to days for the first month only. I specifically asked if they had day shifts available and the answer was "No, this is the only shift we have open." So now I'm down one job. Payroll consistently pays late and then blames your bank. This place is the most chewed up employer I have ever personally known.

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is ok for the job one has to do, location is great, can't think of much more other than the medical insurance is ok if you show up for work. When you don't work, that is when they take the insurance premiums out of your check something that was not indicated at the interview or orientation. It was a total surprise to all.

    Cons

NO professionalism, very disorganized, supervisors do not appear to be trained or have never worked as supervisors to begin with. When applying for this job, the job description was very precise indicating the experience one needed to have, however, there are people hired with NO experience, This company does not follow its policies or work ethics. When an employee asks a question they get different answers making it very difficult to do your job. See above "Pros" for insurance information. There is no paid sick time, no paid time off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate, communicate, communicate. Share information with your employees. Do not punish all employees for the misbehavior of only one, instead that employee should be repremanded as per your policies!!! Get organized and act professional. Set an example and start acting professional and like this is a real company!!

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Rapid growth means lots of opportunity for advancement. Good compensation for professional positions, good benefits and lots of smart people working here.

    Cons

Many call center jobs added recently with lower pay may give a different impression than working for the other divisions. Rapid growth stretches infrastructure and sometimes slow to catch up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide what you want the company to be and go there. Strategic planning is invisible to staff if it exists at all.

I have been working at Cognosante as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

I am struggling to find a 'pro' to working for Cognosante. The salary exceeds my unemployment compensation. I have another position to add to my resume. Some of my co-workers, no thanks to Congnosante, are nice people.

    Cons

They have failed to follow through on promises to contract employees. They fail to communicate policies. The work environment is very negative - and that is even if you are lucky enough to have a supervisor who does not create a hostile work environment. They berate you if you do not meet the performance expectations but they fail to tell you what those expectations are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees as if they are living, breathing human beings who happen to be intelligent. Follow through on your commitments. Quit isolating yourself. If you expect employees to perform to stated standards, tell them what those are. Don't have 3 different pay scales for people doing the same job.
