I have been working at Coke United full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed my job at first and was proud to work for Coca Cola. It's a very well known company. Decent pay and benefits. They provide uniforms and allowance for shoes. Most co-workers are pretty cool.

    Cons

Its the typical "Good ole boy system". I been on a route truck for 8 years, the avg. for this position is about 3 or 4 years. There's a lot of lateral promotions moving to a different route. No promotions for the hard working guys, unless the plant manager is your cousin or uncle. This job is extremely hard! Very hot summer and cold winters unloading a tractor trailer full of soda. The drinks are sold by the case which weighs in ranges of 20-40 lbs per case. A truck usually averages 400 cases a day. 600 to 800 hundred or more in the summer. ALL employees that have worked over 4 years have backs problems. Many shoulder injuries, knees, feet, etc. The job LITERALLY deteriorates your body. And if you have surgery they give you 6 months to get back or your jobs is terminated. I know a couple people that's happened to personally. Management is pathetic and don't have a clue. They promote the laziest people only because they are friends or hunt and fish with them. Managers usually retire with the company because they have it made. You will work about 55 to 65 hours a week no family life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote based on performance not friends and family. When you post a job internally give everyone an opportunity, don't post a job and you already know who's going to fill it. Stop treating your employees like a number. Upper management need to evaluate the company because its not culturally diverse at all !!

I worked at Coke United full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Work hard and watch others kick the dirt and chew the fat, take long lunches, come in late and leave early. Guess I should have gone with this plan and I would have gotten promoted too.

    Cons

Worked long hours, Good Ole BOYS network, Owners and Upper Management either don't know or don't care about what is going on in the trenches. Middle Management will stoop to the lowest of lows to try to run people off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can't believe you haven't had a lawsuit of epic proportions. The only thing keeping that at bay is the fear put into people.

I worked at Coke United full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be a family atmosphere until they brought in a Taylor. If you are a yes man then this is the place for you.

    Cons

Long hours, no show of appreciation, military style management, they demand perfection. There are a couple of people in middle management that has no business in the position they are in. There is one man in upper management that does not want you to make eye contact with him. If you speak up or look him in the eye he will have you fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Undercover Boss to open your eyes. CEO is a good man that has lost the pulse of the employees and what his managers are doing to drive down morale.

I have been working at Coke United full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent insurance, retirement plan not too bad, either. I have worked for some really great managers, as well as co workers

    Cons

They do not pay overtime, many managers only care about getting the work done, rather than correctly. Laziness seems to be rewarded, rather than hard work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rather than sitting and dictating, find out what its like to implement your crazy ideas, which do not make our jobs easier. Reward your employees that work hard, instead of making them take up the slack of the employees that wont work, Or dispose of those that hinder the company from growing into what it could be.
