Pros
The benefits are good as well as the time off allowed. They do not use commission so there is a team effort with everything. You feel part of something and part of making women of all ages feel GOOD!
Cons
There can be stressed involved with the constant change. With the economic state the country is in retail can be tough. For the most part with all the other retailers I have worked for in the past CWC is the best place I have ever worked.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to stop all of the promotion changes it can be confusing to both employees and customers.
Pros
Pretty easy job. People are easy to work with. The pay is good. An average retail job.
Cons
Every decision that management makes is a bad decision so it is hard to feel like the company will stay in business for longer than a couple of years.
Advice to Senior Management
Do the opposite of what you think you should do maybe you'll make the right decision.
Pros
My peers, schedule flexability and opportunity to be part of a turn around.
Cons
communications from Sr. leadership needs to be timely and they need to remember how all their decisions affect the field.
Advice to Senior Management
There is talent in the field who needs to be listened to and respected.
Pros
The Company makes it very easy to perform your job.
Cons
Leadership needs much improvement in leading teams.
Advice to Senior Management
Work as a team. Do not cause drama.
Pros
The customers are great to work with, love the people I work with. 40% discount on clothes sometimes we get 50%. We got a 3% raise company wide for every person in the company. The first raise in 3 years. New designers and tv ads are helping the footsteps into the store. Promos change fast if they are not helping sales and a new one is replaced which is great for sales. Very little issue with theft where I work. Calm working environment most of the time. I LOVE my store manager she is so fair and kind. I have never had such a wonderful boss. She is the reason I stay not for the company.
Cons
The company is on life support. If you are thinking about working here, make sure you read the investors report to see what you are getting into. Terrible return policy for the company ;great for the customers. People bring back stuff from 5 years ago and get money or a gift card.
Upper management is so out of touch with the reality of working in the stores, too much work to do in to little time.
Advice to Senior Management
Work i n your stores for a month, see what we do here. Get off the phone! YOUR always on some call. See what it is really like on the front lines. Dennis Pence is really trying hard, the rest of you need to try harder. Just met the guy, he is wonderful came to our store in NC. He walked in to our surprise.
Pros
Good cooperation between teams and departments - folks want to do the right thing.
Cons
Retail ops has not attracted the best and brightest.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't be afraid to winnow the wheat from the chaff. Sometimes a department needs an enema.
Pros
-Great Management
-Amazing discounts
-Entire staff is willing to help you and so flexible
Cons
-Store sets are hectic, but where are they not?
-Not many cons! But I worked there shortly
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work. The assistant management (when I was working there) was irreplacable and so friendly. Couldn't imagine better management for a part-time retail store job
Pros
Your discount!!! And the products are top notch :)
Cons
Daily drama associated with women .
Advice to Senior Management
Stay there,the advancment is great.
Pros
The location is beautiful and the facilities are well maintained. There is flexibility in scheduling and work hours. There are some stellar people who make the work pleasant. The customers are great.
Cons
There is too much work for the people available. People are not paid what they are worth or valued for what they do. People who deserve promotions are passed over. There is no room for growth or improvement, and no training paths.
Advice to Senior Management
Take better care of your people, recognize the ones who make a difference and reward them for doing that. Develop a plan to keep good people from leaving.
Pros
Wonderful co-workers and wonderful customers; seeing the smiles on the faces of ladies who feel beautiful is rewarding.
Good discount on merchandise.
Decent benefits for a retail job, including medical, dental, and vision.
Cons
Not allowed to have 2 days off in a row except one weekend per month.
Confusing sales that change too often make it difficult on cashier and customers who receive mutlitple coupons and don't understand why they cannot combine them all.
Associates at cashwrap hit with more and more difficult ringing instructions causing stresssed out cashiers and aggravated customers; too many co-occurring promotions cause mistakes and long lines at cashwrap. Internet offers often do not match in-store offers.
Top mgt out of touch with reality in store; piling more and more work on leadership team; holding us accountable for sales goals that are difficult to maintain when customers know that if they hold out long enough, a better sale will come.
Return policy is too liberal and damages % Trend and conversion; set some fair guidelines but end the 'anything, anytime, for any reason' deal.
Floor set directives not realistic; too many folded items requiring constant refolding; too many items called for on fixtures making them unshoppable.
Promotions based on hiearchy and politics rather than experience/ability.
Company ads often focus on catalog-only items which disappoints customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Come out of your offices and the 'virtual store' and actually execute a floor set in 2 or 3 days, while simultaneously running the store. Actually, physically place all those cc's on a wardrober and see how shoppable it is. Then stay for a week and see how difficult it is to maintain all those stacks while serving customers. Observe how confusing multiple promotions/sales are for both associates and customers. Walk a mile in our shoes...
