    I worked at Coldwater Creek

    Pros

I loved Coldwater for putting the customer first. Coldwater believed in a team atmosphere. Managers were able to build their team through rotating areas of responsibility allowing all aspects of the business to be learned. The company created a partnership with all members from the president to the sales associates.

    Cons

The Company lost its competitive edge and had to file for bankruptcy.

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

We were empowered to delight the customer at all times and able to deliver fantastic customer service. I made so many connections with our clientele that many of them gave me their contact numbers to reach out to them when I relocate to another company.
    Great salaries, benefits and bonuses.

    Cons

The last couple of years were difficult due to lots of changes at corporate. Company kept trying to go in different directions but at least the customers did not suffer due to the internal changes.

Associates and customers like family. Good quality clothes but sometimes pricey. Management team consistent about training and putting the customer first. Fun place to work.

    Cons

From the DM up, management not aware what actually goes on in the stores. Constantly sending out coupons and offers and confusing the customer.

Coldwater Creek great place to work!

Former Employee - Assistant Manager in Carlsbad, CA

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

As an Assistant Manager at Coldwater Creek, the initial training was very thorough. Having worked at 2 different locations, one in Northern CA and one in Southern CA, I can say company wide it was a good place to work. The sales and management teams have a good working relationship. Customers are treated fair and with respect. I'm sorry to see Coldwater Creek go out of business.

    Cons

Biggest con is Coldwater Creek going out of business. Really the only drawback to working there is the same drawback of any retail career...the hours. Nights, weekends. But we all know that going into a retail position. I di enjoy the time I worked at Coldwater Creek.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to upper management...what happened! I'm very sorry about the bankruptcy. Very sad to see it go.

I have been working at Coldwater Creek full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful opportunity to work with some highly talented people. The outlet division is populated with people that have enough insight into the business, they should be running the entire company The customers are the best!

    Cons

Financial issues meant no raises, no opportunity to advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should have filed reorganization rather than full bankruptcy. Factory stores were leading the way and under Liz Hayward's direction, could have gone far.

I have been working at Coldwater Creek part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I'm sure it's different in each store, but the Maple Grove, MN store was fun and personable. Not only were my co-workers fun to be around, but the customers were wonderful too. This is the only job were most of our regular customers would come in once a month, and some once a week.

    Cons

I'm just as sad as our customers that the company is closing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thank you for a fun time.
