I have been working at Coldwater Creek part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The clothes are nice and the customer base is nice

    Cons

You must buy the clothes in season, which are expensive, and wear them to work. Hard to do on a salary that barely pays the rent.

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice stores, okay discount, close to home, good salary & benefits

    Cons

Store Manager and Key Holder were nuts! Act nice then constant bad mouth behind ur back. Always had sales to get customers in the door. These older women are NEVER satisfied...nothing is ever cheap enough. So many returns we would have negative $ days. Not surprised they're outta business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to Store Manager. Mine had the schedule she sent the DM and the real one. Always took 3 days off a week, never worked 40 hours. Ever. Lots of slacking. They would do nothing on my days off and leave all sale set up and merch movement for me when I returned. One of the older co-workers called herself a "pillar of the community"...meh. whatever...she only worked 12-4 a few days a week...and thought she was God's gift to the world.

I have been working at Coldwater Creek

    Pros

Was a good concept but, co. got lost and economy did not help their situation.

    Cons

co. is going bankrupt, Product was heavy and not ideal for seasonal areas. Buying office should have done regional buying packages for each zone based on weather.

I have been working at Coldwater Creek for more than 8 years

    Pros

The benefits are some of the best I have ever seen in the industry. Like a previous reviewer said, the PTO was amazing.

    Cons

The supervisory team didn't leave much to the imagination. Sometimes they were as bad as some of the newer less mature employees.

    Pros

the other sales associates were great. I loved working with the public as well. flexible with schedule

    Cons

lack of raises, but not lack of evaluations. Too many stores too soon. It basically saturated the area and it made the store less exciting to shop. I used to love to TRAVEL to shop...Made it special

I worked at Coldwater Creek part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

working with the shared vision of serving customers honestly and supporting one another .

    Cons

Experienced staff with strong customer base let go , many of which worked several years. No value placed on dedication and loyalty to the 'brand' or the fellow Creeker mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop directing your team to give free product to clients because the customer is upset or sending $100.00 GIFT CARDS and forced apologies to situations that would not fly elsewhere. For example, a customer receives free " promo gifts "turns around and re-gifts to a friend. The later returns the product and the product rang up as zero. Both customers are rewarded with flowers and gift cards. Totally unsustainable business practices. The returns were unreal. When I questioned this practice, pointing out it hurt SPH , I was advised it was Dennis Pences's money. Well being that my common stock is now garbage, I'd say it was all of our money, passion and belief in a brand that left us high and dry.
