The name says it all. They're a respectable company across the globe.

Like most businesses, there's competition and in this economy you have to really know how to work for yourself.

Too many agents not working very hard

Cut the dead weight and support the hard workers
Pros
brand recognition. depending on which office good profession atmosphere.
Cons
low commission at first. depending on your manager may not get much support.
Pros
Small enough to know everyone in the office, almost like family, quiet and peaceful office, everyone is willing to help you when you need help - encouraging group of people
Cons
Small office so there is somewhat a limit on growth and promotion unless you are a real estate agent, Waco is a smaller town
Advice to Senior Management
Management was wonderful, everyone was extremely nice and willing help, encouraging and caring at all times - great experience to work in

No leads from the company. "Referral program" is more a way for corporate to intervene in your outgoing referrals

Easy to work for, Put in your own hours. You become your own boss
Cons
You have to make the money all on sales
Advice to Senior Management
Better training about the Real Estate Field

Weak commission splits unless you are a top producer.
Advice to Senior Management
No Advice
Pros
ability to do your own thing yet still be kept up to speed on the latest developments in the industry
Cons
It would always nice to have a higher split no matter how high your split may be. Benefit package would be beneficial
Advice to Senior Management
The management (Jeff Hayes) is why I'm there.
Pros
They advertise for you and they are a nationally recognized name which helps in bringing in business. The education and staff meetings are great and they are on top of all the changes constantly.
Cons
Commission split way too high and tiers not reasonable for most agents to cap at 100%. Loved me when I was moving a lot of real estate and the second I slowed down I was just another worker bee. Too much sacrifice and hard work on my part to pay the high split.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Flexibility is great and the Training is excellent.
Cons
It can be difficult to get started since the commissions paid to the company are high for new agents, plus they have to pay an additional franchise fee to the company on every sale.
Advice to Senior Management
The attitude toward new agents seems short-sighted. If new agents had a better commission split, they could market themselves better, have more clients, and make more money for Coldwell Banker in the long run. Instead, Coldwell Banker spends time and money training the agents, and once trained, they start seeking better commission splits at other brokerages.
