I worked at Coldwell Banker as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling gives one the opportunity to work around your personal schedule and fits very well for one who has other commitments or is a full-time parent.

    Cons

Waiting for subcontractors to complete repairs may sometimes slow you down or your schedule may conflict with the timing of when the property is to be available and you must pass.

    Great overall real estate company.

    I worked at Coldwell Banker

    Pros

Awesome training program. Very supportive employees and superiors. Everyone is always willing to help you get started or with any questions/problems you may come across. Very much a teamwork environment. CB holds their agents to a higher standard than many other companies.

    Cons

Your commission split starting out isn't the greatest, but that just comes along with starting out in real estate at most places. This could also be considered a pro, but you have to work very hard to earn every penny. CB tries to help out, but this is just the nature of real estate.

I worked at Coldwell Banker part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Easy hours, regular pay raises, generally pleasant low-stress atmosphere. Tasks were simple to learn and complete, and it wasn't hard to get into a good rhythm. I received enough cross-training to be ready for the job above me within a year's time.

    Cons

Lower pay and very expensive healthcare. They do not value finding solutions to retain employees regardless of performance when business runs low. Downsizing the staff and then loading extra tasks onto already busy employees that remain is the solution.

I worked at Coldwell Banker full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Best training in the industry. The key is aligning yourself with the right manager who truly cares about their team.

    Cons

Agents have to pay for EVERYTHING to run the business. It's a commission based world so if you don't budget properly, your debits become greater than your credits :(

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come up with a cash incentive to all employees, not just the top producers in the company. Hard working agents who don't get recognized at awards celebrations feel unappreciated and deflated, especially in a down market.

I worked at Coldwell Banker full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The marketing for listings is phenomenal. They provide sufficient resources to properly train and agent.

    Cons

Management is not properly trained to deal with different sales personality. They are rigid in their approach to sales, not allowing for agents to properly take the lead in their own success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Growth in management style would allow agents to become more successful, training sessions are not taken seriously because the sessions are seen as a venting session as oppose to a time for informative review.
