    Pros

    Good managers, great amount of discounts that are useful (grocery discount) in daily life
    in the end i was trained right and handled personally and kindly

    Cons

    Fairly low wage, lowest out of all major competitors
    Hours can be fairly early, but not too late
    No weekend rates

    Advice to Management

    Give weekend rates and the similar like other big companies!

    Pros

    Networking, the hundreds of awesome people you meet, opportunities to progress your career IF you want it! On going support from management but you should be quiet about it.

    Cons

    Youll have to ask for career opportunities, sometimes there is a lack of recognition, not enough communication between management and lower level staff.

    Advice to Management

    Store managers/ store support and 2IC should take more of an effort to get to know those that are working for them!! Id love to see a happier attitude towards basic field work amongst management

    Pros

    Smaller teams within the larger corporate environment, which makes you feel important and not lost among a giant corporation.

    Cons

    Bullying by some employees and a lot of political games.

    Stop the bullying in the organisation.

    Pros

    Good people. Variety of work keeps it interesting. Great place to learn the retail trade. Spent 10 years w old management.

    Cons

    Confusing strategic direction results in poor management decisions. Left due toThe business's poor understanding of the customer. This has since been rectified under the new ownership.

    Advice to Management

    Choose 3 "stakes in the ground" and align everyone's KPIs around them = business focus and simplicity

    Pros

    Best things are my workmates.
    Everyone gets along and works together.
    Any issues are usually addressed quickly by Fill Captain.
    Pay is decent for part time. Earning more for part time than I did for casual 18 months ago in another company.
    Opportunities for advancement are available.

    Cons

    Mixed communication amongst higher management.
    Limited opportunities for extra shifts outside of contracted hours.
    Poor performers are held on to.
    Advancement opportunities are hard to come by, only the elite and longest serving members seem to qualify for retail leaders.
    Weekly budget cuts too often usually leave dept managers scrounging mid week for workers.
    Once hired. Almost impossible to get fired. Despite poor performers.

    Advice to Management

    Increase weekly hours and budget.
    Make career advancement more accessible.
    Get rid of dead wood who drag the team down.
    Promote from within for higher positions.

    Pros

    Decent casual rate for a retail company, very flexible in hours which is good for the people that need it

    Cons

    Managers play favourites, don't really listen to you and not many opportunities in moving up

    Pros

    Good pay for the industry, good Sunday penalty rates as well as a discount card. Flexible rostering for uni students.

    Cons

    Short shifts for casuals. Not enough staff always rostered. Lots of 'lipservice'.

    Advice to Management

    Don't be stingy with staff, ensure that enough staff are always on- good customer service cannot be given if there is not enough staff on.

    Pros

    Good money, no work to do after hours.
    Company culture is good and supportive.

    Cons

    Not very flexible with you taking leave.
    Company politics exist, and can dictate whether or not you are granted certain shifts in shift work.

    Advice to Management

    Need to update computer system and equipment.
    Operators need to be able to take their breaks without being pressured to work throughout them.
