Pros
Flight benefits are one of the best. Experience working to get hired on with the bigger airlines. Coworkers that are helpful.
Cons
Pay is one of the lowest for regional airlines. Schedule is based on seniority. There is no union so they can fire for whatever reason. Have to be in the "in" crowd for advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your workers about equipment required to do the work safely. Hire less contractors and get more experienced people. Stop the revolving door policy and retain your most talented people instead of seeing them go. The average employment during is around one year.
Pros
Fly to lots of places. meet new people. air miles perks. live where you want. friendly people. safety is a priority. free training.
Cons
dont get paid when not flying. hours are not very good. you often fly at midnight and have to fly early in the morning again.
Advice to Senior Management
provide better scheduling opportunities. pay for delayed flights. visit the staff more often. provide job counseling for employees who are unhappy.
Pros
The co workers are the best part.
Cons
The longer Pinnacle has owned the company the less they care. They do a lot to pretend they care but they really don't. They expect salaried employees to work 100+ hours a week without even a thank you.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't expect your employees to make their lives all about the job. You don't pay them enough, never say thank you, and expect miracles without offering support.
Pros
The people. The crew members (pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, etc) were all fantastic. While there could be a bit of high-school-like drama, for the most part the front line workers were a great group of people; and great friends.
Cons
Management. To call the middle and upper management incompetent would be doing them a favor. They have to regard for the crews' rest or home life. They do not communicate, and in the rare instance a memo or bid is issued, it is usually wrong. They manage to create an incredibly hostile and un-trusting work environment that discourages any extra work, effort, or care from their employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your employees to make the right decisions. Stop micro-managing at every level. Provide big-picture leadership and useful encouragement for a job well done. eg: don't punish crew members for refusing over time...reward them for accepting it. Don't provide pointless awards and publish them all over the company site, even though it's almost exclusively management personnel in the home office who are winning them.
Pros
I love to travel the world, meeting different cultures,..travel benefits!
Cons
cancel flights due to mechanical problems some times
Advice to Senior Management
None they all very nice
Pros
It is really easy to pick up flight time and hours. You can pretty easily get over 100hrs a month if you try.
Cons
There is a lot of ambiguity in the work rules. It seems like it is a constant fight between scheduling and pilots/flight attendants. The way we are paid can be somewhat shady at time, it fells like you have to fight for your money. You are hassled for using you sick time, and there are no personal days.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop being reactive and start being proactive. If you treat the employees with respect and propper compensation then they will have a greater incintive to help out the company. If you treat the employees poorly and pay them poorly, then guess what happens.
