    Pros

Good culture. Work environment lets you work to your full potential. Good pay as well.

    Cons

Some managers do not have their interns actively participate in the critical thinking process of their projects.

    Advice to Management

Interns could be more than just an extra set of hands.

The values of the company are really reflected . "Caring" is one of the most representative. Colgate cares about colgate people, customers, suppliers...

    Cons

It can be very hierarchical. It is so structured and with so many processes that can become a disadvantage.

    Pros

Best place I've worked at, great people, great corporate policies.

    Cons

Can be slow moving for a fast moving consumer goods company. Experience can vary widely depending on country management style.

    Advice to Management

While it's a great company to work and develop in due to it's stellar corporate culture, the world is fast changing. Companies that are bold enough to experiment with policies like Google's 20% Time or Unlimited Vacation days are becoming more and more attractive to the millennials.

    Pros

Very healthy financially, and the ideal employer for someone to start his/her career in marketing/sales. Sales oriented with strong brand equities.

    Cons

Work/life balanced nonexistent especially after recent years' cost reduction activities that led to increased responsibilities, increased expectations, increased work hours, and mediocre pay.

    Advice to Management

Start managing people besides the P&L.

    Pros

The people were extremely nice. As a co-op, within the first few weeks, my work was going to be worth something.

    Cons

Some of the employees in the labs have been there for a long time and are a lot older. They seemed to be having a hard time accepting that younger people are becoming in-charge of them. This was expressed to me verbally by one individual.

    Pros

This company is stable and you are highly unlikely to be laid off.

    Cons

The opportunity for advancement is terrible. It is an open secret that there is a 8 year wait list for promotion to associate director level. Someone has to retire or die before promotion can occur because the number of employees at that level or higher is fixed and can never increase. The company has no compunction about working people to death with no intention of ever promoting them. The only way get a management opportunity is to leave the company. There are only two weeks paid vacation for the first five years of service. They'll offer to let you buy another week, but they won't tell you that the week will cost you the fully burdened rate or about 4% of your gross annual income. That's an entire pay check.

    Advice to Management

In defining management by longevity alone, the organization has a high percentage of terrible managers.
