Pros – Competitive salary, great benefits, family comes first, low crime community, provided with good equipment, most supervisors do not micromanage their people, concern for members wellbeing by management.
Cons – No pay raises or cost of living adjustments for five years running, will not fire those who need to be fired but rather just transfer them so they become someone elses problem.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your troops, take the recomendations of mid-management as to who needs to go when they are not carrying their fare share of the workload. Stop trying to get rid of the abusers by throwing a blanket over everyone such as the long term disability...forced separation after 181 days of leave.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
Pros – Employer offers a decent tuition reimbursement program to members who are seeking a degree in various fields like finance, economics, public administration, business administration and so on.
Cons – At times decisions are made based on friendships instead of the caliber of work and professionalism shown. Education and dedication is not always taken into account.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat members more like family considering that they dedicate their life to public service. While people do not enter public service to become rich, management should at least make the effort to reward members with time off without having to find other people to work for them and management should back members up instead of looking for ways to and reasons to discipline.
