Pros
Global platform to work with
Cons
Senior management does not always provide the attention and guidance you may need
Advice to Senior Management
Offer better training programs
Pros
Colliers has always supported my education and growth within the company and the real estate industry. Colliers also has an internal development and education program that is structured and the classes given by the best of the best within and outside of Colliers.
Cons
Due to the nature of our business it would seem reasonable to have all bank holidays off in the United States offices.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe promoting employees from within should always be considered and all job openings should be posted internally as often as possible.
Pros
Well known.
Very much a mind your own business type of place.
Cons
Playground for the under educated, under qualifies, otherwise unemployable offsprings of partners or major clients.
Information sharing is non existent. Spend more time tracking down info from the guy across the hall who is reluctant to help than actual work.
Advice to Senior Management
You have the right people do the wrong jobs.
Pros
People are friendly and willing to help
Cons
Unless you are a broker, there is no big room to grow
Pros
I love working at Colliers. The entire staff is friendly and supportive, the environment is very professional and there is excellent opportunity for growth. My pay is high for what I do, I get two weeks off my first year which increases to three weeks after three years and four weeks after five years which is wonderful. Management respects your need for work/life balance and often releases staff early on holiday weekends and lets us leave early on Fridays in the summer.
Cons
It would be great if there was a separate maternity leave package from paid vacation time- it's difficult to take unpaid time off as a new mom and yet it is very important.
Advice to Senior Management
Management is great!
Pros
Great Focus within each sector / regional office
Some Teams gel better than others
Good reviews and promotions from within
Good internal resources
Cons
Complicated Company Structure due to CMN taking over the Colliers International name.
Some brokers can be rude and selfish
Not team oriented; some people are out for themselves.
Pros
Information sharing is very much encouraged. The company culture is also very favorable with very few office politics going on.
Cons
Pay structure and pay review is very slow.
Pros
Some good people to work with.
Cons
Lack of opportunity and career growth.
Advice to Senior Management

Pros
The new open office environment in downtown Dallas is a big improvement over the former Dallas space. Workplace is comfortable and attractive.
Cons
By far the most out of touch, old school, incompetent management I've seen in 25 years in the commercial real estate industry. Upper management seems to have no concept of process or delivery, and middle management is terrified to make a decision, leaving employees dangling in the wind.
Advice to Senior Management
This is a competitive industry. There is no place for lack of courage or initiative, especially in this market. Holding back will not grow a company or increase our market share.
Pros
They have staff appreciation week which is nice
Cons
Not enough staff for the properties they manage.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more help. Focus on the important things like are wages and benefits Try to keep people instead of letting the good people go to other companies
