I have been working at Colliers International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The culture of the Wisconsin office is very unique in the CRE industry, it is a work hard/play hard atmosphere and it is obvious that everyone here enjoys their job. The people are fantastic, they are both very friendly and knowledgeable about their jobs. I work in the marketing group which at our office is still growing and becoming stronger. The brokers especially have a great opportunity of learning from the experienced guys. If you're a dedicated employee they show their appreciation and how much they value you.

    Cons

Outside of brokerage it can be difficult to see the areas for job growth, although I believe this is changing as the company matures and grows. At times there can be a divide between the brokers vs. marketing & other support staff.

I have been working at Colliers International full-time

    Pros

A good company, especially if you can get in at the corporate headquarters in Seattle.

    Cons

The office culture at the regional level can vary depending on what office you work out of. This is also dependent as to what area or department that you wind up working within.

I worked at Colliers International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you want to not make of much of your time as an entry level professional, just by sitting on a computer and working on most simplest tasks, this is the company for you.

Work for 6+ months and move on

    Cons

    Bad Compensation.
No 401K, poor health care options

Eventually you have no say what product line you would like to pursue. They put you where they want to put you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at Analysts as someone to invest time and capital into, not some people to fill up your office.

I have been working at Colliers International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fast response when it comes to IT, payroll, or benefits questions. Efficient email communications systems in place, processes relatively streamlined, many resources to utilize.

    Cons

No real "perks" to speak of. Generic corporate culture. If you're not a broker, be prepared to feel a bit isolated and dejected. Disrespectful to admin. Stubborn and condescending brokers. Inflexible time off (especially if you work under a broker). Be prepared to talk about money, golf, and sports and not much else. Lack of culture or human connection. People could care less about what you unless if you're bringing in the big bucks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cultivate some type of culture. Foster human connection. Be more accessible and less judgemental - people make the company run. Everyone matters, so try and act like it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Colliers International as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The hardworking team, amiable staff, helpful analysts and great office manager made this by far the best intern experience I had in college

    Cons

With any real estate brokerage company, a lull in the market can be reflected by a higher level of stress in the office as brokers struggle to get by. Colliers brokers handled these stresses well and continued to perform under pressure.
