    Pros

Course content is solid and the ability to share one's faith along with Biblical principles is great.

    Cons

Students who complain when instructors hold them to reasonable standards will get an instructor removed from the course or the university. All they have to do is contact the Dean and complain loudly. The Dean sides with the student, refuses to honor the instructor's reasonable requirements, and make sure the student gets his grade. I know of 3 cases where this occurred - these are not rumors. Yes, it looks like a degree mill.

    Advice to Management

Support instructors whenever the instructor requires reasonable standards. Fire Deans who refuse to do this. Add an "integrity review" to all management evaluations. Review all termination recommendations at the highest level and do not rely upon Deans' student-manipulated decisions. If you cannot do this, can you really call your self "Christian" or "University?"

    Pros

The vast majority of people are really kind and fun to work with. The hours are usually flexible and you feel like you are part of a family. The location is also good.

    Cons

Management seems to terminate people with little cause or review. There is almost no room for movement within the company and they solicit external candidates before offering positions to qualified internal candidates. The organization is far too "top down"

    Advice to Management

Use and value the people you have, they are not disposable.

    Pros

It is fulfilling to work with college students who are seeking to gain educational and professional training. CCU has great benefits and creates a strong community among the staff and faculty. There are several perks that make the job fun, like time off at Christmas, and unlimited tea and coffee. They are quick to provide the resources need to get the job done. The IT department is friendly and helpful.

    Cons

I have not experienced any cons of working at CCU.

    Pros

You are impacting the future of the world. It is a ministry to work for Colorado Christian University and you have to be willing to work for less than the same position would pay in the private sector.

    Cons

Some of the decisions which are made seem to go around in circles. Things change on a regular basis and if you wait long enough, they will come back to being the same.

    Advice to Management

Watch what you say to everyone. Word gets around in the small workplace and if you tell anyone something in confidence, it probably won't be that way for long.

    Pros

Faculty commitment to student achievement is strong
Staff is courteous, friendly, and committed
Work environment is safe and stress free
    Institution is relatively stable

    Cons

Parochial beliefs perpetuate discrimination against women and certain other groups
Employment contingent upon conformity to narrow and regressive religious and political views
Lack of tenure for faculty limits open discussion of alternative views and academic rigor
Salary structure average at best, endowment is modest, and campus clean but uninspiring

    Advice to Management

Broaden ideological perspective to improve course content and thus better serve students
Increase faculty freedom, voice, and compensation to attract and retain better faculty
