I worked at Columbia Technology Corp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great group of employees that displayed an incredible amount of patience with the owner. Pretty good client list. Office has an awesome view and luckily the owner couldn't hire enough people to fill more than 20% of the desks so it was very spacious!

    Cons

Daily "You Suck Meetings" where the owner let's us know how much we suck as recruiters.
Owner monitors personal communications of employees, i.e. reads your gmail account if you open it on your work computer. He has one security camera per employee to keep tabs while sitting at home until 11:30 AM daily. Maintains a personal and vigorous vendetta against any and every employee that leaves. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I have been working at Columbia Technology Corp as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Only possible pro would be the fact that you learn how a company SHOULD NOT operate and you learn what a truly horrible boss/manager is and you can steer away similar negative people afterwards.

    Cons

I don't know where to start. A boiler room environment without any of the possible success. The president gets off on yelling at his employees to constantly make calls without providing any useful input, training or simple guidance besides "pick up the phone and call" and gets infuriated when somehow, all of his junior recruiters that started last week and will probably leave in 3 months can't make any placements or even get a person to stay on the phone. Most recruiters are extremely junior (less than a year recruiting or just straight out of college) because he makes promises of fortune and success that of course never happens (you are actually taking step backwards in your career working here, since he'll try to give you the lowest salary possible first). Daily meetings where he feeds his own ego by insulting his employees and asking why they aren't making any profits. Seen way more kick outs than actual placements, most likely because the president scares away the candidate once someone actually gets an interview and close to placement. Since he doesn't trust anyone, he insists on taking the candidates away from the recruiter after a certain point, and then blames the candidate when the deal falls through. Speaking of no trust, cameras all over the office to watch you and spyware on your computer to read your personal email. No basic human rights, work through holidays and weekends, always gives grief if god forbid you actually need to take a day off for any reason, states hour lunch on contract but blows up if you take more than 15 minutes, end of day meetings last well past 7PM, the list goes on.

Literally, the worst decision you can make to your career, sanity and health working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Can't wait for the "company" to finally close its doors.

    Pros

Very nice co-workers and thats all!!

    Cons

Horrible boss!!! David Vitiello is the president who micro manages your every minute. He will lie and say anything to get his way, but will never follow through on his promises. The company focuses only in the finance area and doesnt have any relationships with them. He will sabotage your career, so beware!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not much hope for the company as long as the president makes all the calls!

I worked at Columbia Technology Corp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Those people you meet will end up quitting within a couple months like
    the rest of them.

    Cons

The CEO (David Vitiello) is grossly inappropriate, unprofessional, a
liar, and potentially autistic. You will not be provided with anything
they offer you in the interview including normal professional
amenities and rights. The CEO is overly paranoid that his recruiters
will turn on him (has over 5 cameras watching you at all times) and
thus he voids them of any professional development, investment, and
financial means, while consistently threatening their jobs. The CEO is
also childish and too hands-on, he has favorites and depends on his
female employees to counsel him through his fits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop lying to your clients. Stop mistreating your employees (stop
reading their personal emails). Stop pushing out poor quality resumes.
    And get LinkedIn Recruiter already.

-Ability to work on any job that comes in.

    Cons

-Only focused on financial jobs. So when the market dips there is nothing to do.
    -Micro-management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
