I worked at ComForcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Plenty of hours, great staff that works with you and an overall great experience. pay is good and your assigned to great clientele

    Cons

Like all home care jobs unstable work may occur. So this can be stressful however it's just the nature of the business so is not really a con its just the way it is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at ComForcare part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They accommodate flexible schedules - good for students.
No experience required, which is good for those just getting started.

    Cons

    Not enough up-front training.
    The office seems disorganized.
Wages are low, though that is typical for home care.
New caregivers are sometimes put in situations they are not prepared for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve training, especially for those without a CNA license.

I worked at ComForcare as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

My employer made sure that I was properly compensated for the work that I did.If I put in extra time or effort, I was compensated without having to ask. She recognized the time and effort and responded accordingly.

    Cons

A combination of flagging economy and personal problems resulted in the company's closure.

I worked at ComForcare part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice owners, but they were never interested in helping their clients or their employees.

    Cons

Company out of Nashville Tn did not have me clocking in and out when I went to client's house. Client complained that no RN or LPN and office staff EVER visited his home to check on him. No overtime, no benefits all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have your caregivers clock in and out. The people in Nashville Tn gave me flow sheets and I was supposed to write down when I arrived and when I left. The Insurance company should be having a fit over that. I never could get 40 hours a week. Very few clients. No weekly checks. I was there for a year and the staff only called to check on my client two or three times.

I worked at ComForcare part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed working with the clients in their homes. I thought that Orientation was well put together, it had a lot of good pointers to make the job less stressful for the client and employee.

    Cons

Even though the company looked real good on paper. Management was very unorganized and didn't follow their own policies. I was not given the support from the company I needed to do my job with excellence. The clients have a right for quality care. They had very few client cases, so I never got the opportunity to work much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really wish I would of had the opportunity to work more because I enjoyed working with the elderly. Your employees need to know, that the company is backing them up when they go to the clients home. I often felt alone because I did my best to represent the company well when I went to clients homes, but when I needed the company to do their part like giving report about a clients condition, they let me down. Management always made you feel like you can be replaced.

They are very flexible and willing to work around your school schedule. Office management is very nice

    Cons

Tend to overwork their caregivers sometimes and the pay is not that great for what we do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay the caregivers according to their merit, and get some help in the office

I have been working at ComForcare

    Pros

Personally love working for Elderly population and with families.

    Cons

New Owner/Operator- West Bloomfield Office- has absolutely no education or experience working in this business. Too busy crunching the $$$ and nickle and dimeing the families. Sad the Franchise didn't check her out first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This West Bloomfield office is no longer of the same philosophy as the majority of Comforcare offices in Michigan.

I have been working at ComForcare part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lazy family members are let off the hook.

    Cons

Shoddy training, most care providers are obese, workers without medical coverage have been given gratuities to cover medical costs so they can go to work Your employees are not paid enough for them to care about people as individuals. Your management of the company is way below average, you employ family, it's sometimes not known who or which aide is coming to the house.
