I have been working at Comanche County Memorial Hospital

    Pros

Small intimate hospital where you can get to know individuals faster

    Cons

Very negative environment where no one wants to make it better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay more

I worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of great learning experience in both medication distribution systems through the inpatient pharmacy. Also, I was able to learn the retail side of the pharmacy but I wished I could have learned more.

    Cons

Long hours after the "robot" or the new medication distribution system took place. It was hard with my arthritis to keep working there even though I only worked every other weekend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to all your employees.

I worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

My director, Heather Love, was awesome. Could not ask for a better director. She really tried to take care of her employees and was always willing to pitch in when needed.

    Cons

I really can't give a lot of complaints. There has been a lot of changes going on, which were all positive. These changes had an impact on worker's attitudes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more aware of what your lower management is doing. It can make a big impact on moral.

    Pros

    Great people to work with!

    Cons

Payscale is poor, high turnover, lack of management support, poor run hospital, almost failed Joint Commission survey in 2010. Read all small print in any paperwork given to you by the hospital.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show appreciation to all staff members, re-evaluate pay scales.

I worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Management was very thorough during the hiring and orientation process. Orientation was paid fully. Once on the floor, orientation continued for several weeks.

    Cons

Some of the staff were unpleasant, especially about personal matters. Would have been nice to have the COWs in every room, instead of lugging them from room to room.

I worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital

    Pros

    Great food at the cafateria

    Cons

No job description! No job reviews. When problems arise they become your problem as if you created it and when you don't have a job description there is not much you can do about it. VERY manipulative and threatening tactics by management. You are made to feel that every day could be your last.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The high turn over rate of mid level management means that upper management is lacking. Period.
