I have been working at Comcast full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Courtesy Services are great. Can get all of the services for less than 100.00 a month. This is a fantastic benefit.

    Cons

Comcast is not known for their high salaries. People that are external to the company have a better chance of getting a salary more comparable industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Comcast full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Being a Comcast technician gives you a great start into the technology world you will learn a lot about home theater, home networking, home phone services as well as you will learn about the headend distribution and last mile system.
Being a part of such a big corporation meansbyoy have a lot of benefits. Discounted cable, internet, home phone, and security.
Competitive healthcare as well as a whole ton of corporate discounts from other corporations. Technicians in some areas are allowed to take vehicles home.
Advanced phones and tablets have allowed for better local communication.

    Cons

Starting pay is rather low and you only get a once a year merit raise, no cost of living raise.
Work load is really large within the time constraints given by the company.
Communication is rather slow from the field upwards.
Advancement is weird. Supervisors do not ultimately have a say in who gets hired for what job HR does. So that makes it harder to network for a new position.
Responsibilites grow on a quarterly basis but your pay doesn't increase with responsibility, nor are you given more time to meet your responsibilites.
There is a grey area between quality and quantity as long as everything "averages out" for the company management doesn't care. But it can effect your raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Comcast is a massive company and it appears that in a lot of technical areas the employees are getting left behind and under appreciated.
Treat your staff as adults and communicate your plan to them, stop being flavor of the month and create a game plan for the long run.
When people see where they are going its easier to adjust to new demands but when you change focus every month its harder to adapt.
Refocus on the install that should be our ONLY visit to a house, but we are not given enough time to install and educate the customer, please increase the time allowed for an install.

I have been working at Comcast full-time

    Pros

Great internet product. Really no competition in the market once customers are educated on pricing per meg. Business Branding has gotten better over time.

    Cons

Not a Customer Driven organization. Poor customer service internal and external. Upper management doesn't seem to care about their people. Sales organization has turned into a revolving door. No one knows what they're doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs Diversity, Diversity, Diversity. Mid-level managers need more backbone to tell Corporate what will and what won't work in market. Start hiring from within and stop bring people from the outside in to manage people and processes they don't understand.

I worked at Comcast full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Comcast is a great Company with great objectives, their goals are good and the company direction is good.

    Cons

The direction, company goals, company objectives from Philadelphia gets lost in the local markets, the individuals in leadership are put in place based on the kiss up factor and not based on qualifications factors. I have experienced discrimination of employees, customers as well as unethical actions taken by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Philadelphia should take more interest in company surveys, and take into consideration that the baseline employees are the true voice of the company!

    Pros

Very flexible most of the time which offers a work-life balance. The culture is very laid-back. Get benefits and incentatives!

    Cons

Base could be more, charge backs are the worst (reps are held accountable for 120 days on each account they sell). Weather: Extreme heat and cold
    Work Saturdays
