I worked at Comcast full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company. Outstanding benefits. Free cable, internet and discounted services. Great medical, dental and vision, 401k, employee stock options, tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

Upper management only cared about themselves and covering their tales. Never any clear direction. Always reactive to the flavor of the day and never proactive to anticipate and plan for future problems

    Advice to Management

Do what you do. It has worked for you to this point. Why change. Best you can do is make sure you have solid team beneath you

I have been working at Comcast full-time

    Pros

Looks good on a resume Tuition reimbursement Lots of vacation days 401k is matched Decent medical benefits Quarterly bonus Food brought in sometimes

    Cons

Underpaid for the position Terrible training Bad communication, even within the same department Micromanagers No accountability and lots of blame game Managers are secretive with information Decisions made off of personal emotions rather than logic Favoritism

    Advice to Management

Show more support for your team rather than trying to accommodate the requests of various other departments that are not familiar with our processes. You're just making it more stressful for your team as well as yourself. Be more forthcoming with information especially to the people that need to know, even if it means owning up to your mistakes. Stop trying to find little things to nitpick at, you're going to lose a lot of good workers that way.

I worked at Comcast full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits for the employees, the discount you get from other companies were AWESOME!!!!! The different job opportunities thats available thru out the United States

    Cons

unprofessional work environment, the different jobs you fill as a Customer Account Executive doesn't allow you the opportunity to master your skill as a sales agent .

    Advice to Management

There has to be a more professional work environment. The sales agent should only focus on selling products or upselling customers and not troubleshooting receivers, data equip, home phone issues or assist with billing issues. That's when the level of customer service diminish.

I have been working at Comcast full-time

    Pros

great work environment lots of room for growth and promotion The free cable/ internet/ phone is great. I learned more about cable that anyone would ever want to know. I also got to learn how to work with a variety of diverse people. I am glad I have the opportunity to work for this company. It is sort of like working in food service and retail- everyone should have to do it once in their lifetime, just so they can understand what it is like for the person trying to help them on the other end of the phone.

    Cons

No sense of direction where it comes to the one Comcast model, division wise and nationally. Too much outsourcing, advancement can be slow or very fast(if you know the right people at times). Salaries aren't that great but it could be worse.

    Advice to Management

Comcast is a massive company and it appears that in a lot of technical areas the employees are getting left behind and under appreciated. Treat your staff as adults and communicate your plan to them, stop being flavor of the month and create a game plan for the long run. When people see where they are going its easier to adjust to new demands but when you change focus every month its harder to adapt. Refocus on the install that should be our ONLY visit to a house

    Pros

Beautiful Building and Location, hard working people, good overall values

    Cons

Long hours, lack of family life balance per work load requirements. Decisions appear to be made on friendships not on knowledge or skill set.

    Advice to Management

    Foster a Fair Work Enviornment

I have been working at Comcast (More than a year)

    Pros

Working here there is a lot of control given for maintaining daily schedule. Free time.

    Cons

Lots of change going on. The pay is not what it used to be. Major setback, unfortunately.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people honestly. When your employees feel they are taking care of, then the same is usually given in return.
