cultivate thoroughly train. build the people and you will build the company.

Advice to Senior Management
Work harder to reward results and ignore flattery and fake competencies. Invest more in the consumer and their satisfaction. If you're going to use office politics as a reason to promote people, at least train us on it!

good benefits, health and service wise. i am luky enough to work with great people.

typical customer service job so daily you deal with upset people. at times they get very rude. when you bring up nw ideas, they will be heard, but i hardly see any implementing

Benfits are good but pay raises typical 3% budgeted amounts regardless of performance. Constant changes in direction grinds on moral.

Know who your good employees are at the local levels

There was a lot of flexibility in choosing a schedule and pretty good opportunity to learn new skills. The services were given to employees for almost free (cable free, minimal charge for phone and internet).

There was a lot of throwing new stuff at the workers instead of offering real training, and then expecting full ability to support it without the training.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't throw new products to support without training them first. Be liberal in praise, not just criticism when things aren't handled right.

Depressing job.. most phone calls are negative and can get under your skin. As with most corporate jobs... you are a number, not a person.
Advice to Senior Management
Take time out of micromanaging and put time into your employees. I would recommend onsite therapist for everyone to have the ability to talk to regarding the negative feedback they deal with all day, every day.

Not enough communication when there are changes
Comcast hires all the time and spends allot of money on training...then if you don't have good STATS you are let go ...I do believe that Comast receives Tax credits from the IRS for hiring personal. That's why they are always hiring new employees. You CANNOT take a sick day even with a doctor's excuse without getting written up after a few unscheduled sick days. Not enough breaks its very hard to be on the phone for 8 hours listening to the crap from customers and the trying to help some people reboot their cable box who don't have a clue about what you are trying to tell them to do, especially senior people...I'm in my 60's and I make sure I understand all the equipment in my home. Then if you spend too much time with a customer it goes against your numbers. You are monitored on everything you do and written up even if you give the best customer service.

Care more about your employees with the long frustrating calls...give more breaks. Some times in life people do have illnesses and sick days should be aloud ...based on each employees personal issue

Comcast has great medical, dental, and retirement benefits
Cons
Good luck getting promoted if you work in the residental call center in Denver. The director has a philosophy of keeping the technical agents in the same position. She doesn't know how to manage a call center and is so worried about coverage she will not allow you to advance.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a few calls from the customers and see how long you want to be in that position.
