I have been working at Comcast full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Average compensation, Stock options were a great benefit as long as stock performs, especially for lifers. Depending on your SVP you may receive career development opportunities and support or you may be ignored all together if you are perceived as a future threat. Lots of politics, especially in the GBR area with people covering their foibles looking the other way lest they lose their job for showing some integrity. CHQ has done a better job of bringing in better talent and it shows in the company's recent performance. Great bennies.

    Cons

The golden handcuffs lead to inaction and self-preservation. Bad reviews on employee survey leads to witch hunts instead of addressing the issues (excepting some SVPs has mentioned above).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Division President needs to clean house and realize he is not surrounded by the best people and that those getting promoted or moved to other markets as promoted have not really contributed to the company more than hot air. Neil and Brian need to take a closer look at what is going on under their noses. They could trim the fat by trimming/replacing, inept, unqualified VPs and EDs.

I worked at Comcast full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free telecom services, decent salary, work/life balance

    Cons

Starting hours, not the best management, internal processes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make departmental change fluid as opposed to dramatic shifts every 6 months.

I have been working at Comcast full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many perks and it seems to be driven by moral and support.

    Cons

Does not deliver on their promise to help mold and shape you into the employees they are looking for and many get lost in the shuffle. You truly become a number and have seen employees with numerous years of service be walked out after a bad month of sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay closer attention to the Supervisors roles on the floor and ensure that ALL new employees get the same amount of attention especially when they have asked numerous time for assistance and not received it.

I have been working at Comcast full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Comcast has opportunity for its employees to do what they desire if they prepare for it. There are many programs available for employee quality of life.

    Cons

I have yet to find anything that I would consider a negative attribute about Comcast. This is a company that cares about its clients and its employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on looking for ways to improve.

I have been working at Comcast

    Pros

Great benefits, time-off (which you will need, the job will drive you nuts)

    Cons

Stressful, awful job, nothing gets fixed right

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - more to politicians and lobbyist. Comcast is a monopoly and they do everything they can to make more money. The pay ranges vary greatly. the person beside you hired after you could make $25 an hour doing your exact same job, where you make $18. there are a lot of unfair things- hiring new people Monday - friday while older employees who want a M-F are stuck working saturdays. when asked they say its a "system limitation"

    I worked at Comcast

    Pros

Fun perks like free cable, and lots of perks on site like gym and great cafeteria. Large enough company to move around to different positions or different branches of the company. Fun product to work on.

    Cons

very political inside with who gets promotions and who gets laid off

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to work on "work/life' balance as most managers expect workers to have no personal life.

I have been working at Comcast

    Pros

    Free/Discounted Cable / Phone / Internet Service.

    Cons

Not sure how Comcast gets the title of "Best Place to Work in XX". I walk into to building and see unhappy customers waiting in line EVERY DAY (all the VPs and Directors don't seem to care EVERY DAY) and walk into the office where empty cubs everywhere. Very depressing place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop re-org and share the information with the "working" people. Respect your employee even if they don't have manager or above titles.
