I worked at Comcast Spotlight full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Discounted cable only. Every other company in the corporate world, offers the same benefits. That discounted Cable not worth the under-payment and over work. In Florida every single media advertiser competitor will pay you more and offer you the same benefits ( except the cable) but guess what, with getting paid allot more you can afford the Cable and much more. I think a pro, would be that, they don't train you, they don't help you, you are on your own. So.... If you survive here, You can work anywhere.

    Cons

Spotlight is a tiny company from the Cable Giant and from working there. It seems like they are not even related. Technologies and Softwares are so old,you will feel you stepped into a time machine. ( 20 years in the past). They Also run cheap, looking who they can fire on a daily basis to reduce payroll. When some one quits, management celebrates and closes the position. The remaining staff has to pick up. Extremely high turn over ( 90% quit 10% get let go) They are very under staffed.... some departments are one or two people but the workload is for 10.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no Management, middle nor higher, just a group of people giving orders. No strategies,no plans,no vision, no results. They only spend money on client outings, sporting events, trips and parties. Delegation and intimidation are the only thing Management brings to the table.

I worked at Comcast Spotlight full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You get discounted cable, internet and phone. You will not have time to enjoy any of these things at home because you will always be working. Health benefits are good if you make enough money to afford the top-tier plan.

    Cons

You will be working 50+ hours a week and you will never keep up with your workload. As I salaried employee I was exempt from receiving overtime compensation and I was told working additional hours was "optional." I would go in early (by 30-45 min) five days a week and took only 1/2 for lunch. Even with averaging a 50 hour work week I could have taken work home at night and on weekends. The workload as a national account manager is just impossible. There was no support from management to help ease the workload or distribute tasks to others. My Account Executive only contacted me if the other national account manager was out of the office (while contacting said account manager several times each day). Horrible, high-stress environment where putting in 110% was never enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no recognition for hard work. The Indianapolis office is so full of office politics and favoritism it is truly disgraceful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Free cable and excellent benefits....Nice peers.

    Cons

Sales calls are always routed with complain calls, service calls. They manipulate the sales calls to favoritism. the put higher sales goals in order to not reach them and fail the score card and not accomplish the sales goals in order to do not get paid 100% commision, Management sucks. Constantly laid off in groups. High turnover. They fired people all the time frequently from inside sales Call center in Spanish.

    Pros

This company wants you to succeed and grow. They want you to have goals to keep moving up the ladder. It has great benefits. I really enjoyed my co workers.

    Cons

The promotions are usually available within the corporate office. Training is done out of the corporate office and takes a while.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to talk with those in support roles. They have a lot of valuable insight.
