Pros
Benefits, gym, cafeteria, security, brand,
Cons
Outdated technology, information sharing, training and development, complacent employees who only care about job security, each dept operates like their own separate entity, no intranet, operates inefficiently, lack of job recognition and enterprise visibility, employee morale, lacks innovative thinking
Advice to Senior Management
Take more chances and think outside the box.
Pros
Decent salary, but get the money going in. No raises or bonuses. OK benefits, nice fitness center that is free to employees
Cons
Bonus program for employees is a joke, you might get $250 a quarter if you are lucky. Vacation policy is awful. It does matter if you were up all night working on a system problem last night, you are still expected to take vacation time to go to the doctor today. Salaried employees are treated like hourly employees without the overtime pay. Computer systems are archaic. No recognition for completed projects, managers take the credit for those.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in IT!!! Thirty year old mainframe green screens and windows 2007 isn't getting it done.
Pros
Brentwood is a lovely place to work and live
Many employees are extremely devoted to company and customers
Have some product sets that could really take off
Cons
The new senior leadership team is a joke. There is nobody left up top to lead, and it shows. 12 months ago I was excited by where the company was going. Since then our President, COO, CFO, Head of Marketing, and Head of Quality are all gone. The new CEO has no experience as a leader, and seems to be just a yes-man for the parent company.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop getting rid of leaders with vision and ability to bring in yes-men and people with Ceridian connections. Here's an idea -- if you have to hire a new leader, get one from one of our customers for a change.
Pros
The company has excellent people working for it within various departments that have a good understanding of what makes the company great.
Cons
Management has lost focus of what makes the company great. The core values of the company have been eroded by lack of customer focus and low employee morale brought about by a lack of knowledgeable senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
A complete turnover of senior management would be beneficial for the organization. The management has lost focus and getting a management team that understands both the markets and the customers would help to turn the company around.
Pros
The people, location, and a reasonable level of compensation make wokring at Comdata bearable. Also the general population gets along well.
Cons
Comdata senior management lacks vision and remains a one trick pony in the transportation space. The parent company Ceridian is laughable.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management should learn from other successful companies and see that diversity can truly help a company as opposed to mindless soldiers.
Pros
Opportunities for growth, professionally and personally
Fair compensation and strong benefits package
Workout facility with fitness coaches available at no charge
Onsite cafe' for breakfast and lunch
Laid back environment/culture
Backed by Ceridian
Cons
Don't work here if you do not have a sense of urgency or work ethic.
Pros
Great place to get a start in sales.
Cons
Culture is derogatory.
Management is worse - largely populated by "yes-men" (and "yes-women").
Hard to find a company with more incompetent and lackluster senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should be replaced. Current management has maybe one or two real leaders (not in true leadership positions, of course), and many empty suits.
Pros
There are great resources and capable managers. Pride in work, team work, revenue driven.
Cons
hypocrosy, bad decisions, lack of strategy for future, hurting for resources in personnel, HR is only there to protect management, not help employees. Telling the truth about management means getting fired, taken to HR. Applying policies across the company is not consistent in all areas.
Advice to Senior Management
Fire yourself.
Pros
You get to work very hard and don't have to worry about taking any credit for it, your manager will handle that for you.
Cons
See pros. Also they like to preach diversity but the work atmosphere can get very intolerant at the highest levels of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
New president and CEO of Comdata would be a great start to being a better place to work. Management should stop keeping so many secrets when openness would actually encourage teamwork.
Pros
This company is always looking for ways to expand business.
Close to home if you live in Franklin or Brentwood.
Cons
Hopefully, the turnover in the leadership positions has slowed down.
It was a very volitile place to work during the Ceridian takeover.
Advice to Senior Management
Communication from the lower levels needs to make its way up the chain more often.
