    Pros

Good people friendly environment with good reputation in a very competitive marketplace.

    Cons

Midwestern roots creates focus more on tenure than talent & capability.

    Advice to Management

Despite price pressures and intense competition, we need to increase our investment in systems/processes and top people.

I worked at Comerica full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customer base is loyal and overall enjoyable. It has a small bank feel to it and you can really build relationships with co-workers and customers. There is an emphasis on sales, but the goals are very manageable. For the most part, you can excel as long as you are motivated and consistent (as with a majority of sales positions). Relative to other banks, base pay is also above average, however it is harder to increase your salary via commission.

    Cons

It is too safe and stale of an organization for me. As you work your way up in management you will begin to inherit many workers that have been in the same job for 20 years. It is full of very nice people, however very mediocre professionally and can even be very immature. There were times when you take a step back and realize there are a dozen 40+ employees acting as if this was the bank version of "Mean Girls" where both men and women play.

    Advice to Management

There is really no substantial difference between those that excel and those who don't at Comerica. I was able to move up, however you have to be in a very specific position to do so. Most of the time, the people above you are 20 year dead weight and there is nowhere to go up, you have to go out of the company to move your career along. Also, move into the 20th
