a job where individuals worked together as a team.

Administrative and Warehouse Control (Former Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

A family group work place .

Customer Associate (Former Employee) Southend-on-Sea, England (UK)

ProsMostly a friendly place to be employed lots of pressure tu sell what the company wanted the customer to have rather than what might be best , Some sale persons only out for short term gain and not worrying about repeat custom, Floorsales managers some could be a pain in the behind and would call you and customer stupid and worse if you could not get customers to part with extra money for add on sales, Extra care a great idea to make money and most of the time a very good idea provided the afore mentioned didn't twist the truth about the product , Accessories often over priced some good others quirky .Ideas from the shop floor often adopted and copied by the likes of DSG ( Currys B&Q and other smaller retailers) rarely bettered !

ConsOften upper middle management lost sight of who the customer was often failing to see or learn that customers did not have bottomless pockets Whilst you knew that they had pressure on them it just multiplied as it came down the line , Stores often defeated by companies on line out lets. Finally killed by over greedy asset strippers .

Advice to Senior ManagementThis now makes no difference to the past company , But in a highly competitive environment you cant cut your own throat and that of those on the shop floor by cutting corners in service making prices that have such a great difference between the two ie a range cooker £2200 instore £1400 on line .
