Pros
Good compensation, good managment. Great, and I mean GREAT, product.
Cons
Cheap when it comes to benefits and doing corporate wide events. Although the company is growing like gangbusters, it is hard to feel you are participating in the growth financially as an employee.
Advice to Senior Management
Stock options or stock purchase program. Get all employees invested in the success of the company.
Pros
I got a chance to get versed with latest of hardware and software technologies. Never before, I had worked on such a huge codebase in my previous company projects. Every employer in the engineering dept is given a work of responsibility. I seldom see anybody sitting idle.
Cons
Managers expect their direct-reports to work 24x7. It's an environment where everyone is continuously pushing each other. People are expected to be more committed toward their work than their family. Also, I think compensation is lower than that other companies will offer for the same degree of commitment.
Advice to Senior Management
There is very little done from the management to boost employee morale. All s/he is offered is work satisfaction by involving him further into projects. More budget needs to be allocated in organizing cultural event, weekend trips, etc. This will help setting inter-employee relations other than work-relations and also make them feel home.
Pros
1). Employees have full freedom to select their own way to discharging duties.
2). So many requirements make job security
3). Challenging work requirements provide opportunities to employee to expose their ability, utilize their past experiences and sharpen their skills.
4). Some of the managers are very flexible.
5). Flexible work time.
6). Nobody will ask any question as the work get done before deadline. you can enjoy life.
7). Flexible time off and unlimited vacation.
8). Company has very good future. Growing company and aggressively capturing market.
Cons
1). The worst thing is, Only the numbers of years worked in Commvault, will be accounted to determine the seniority. Past experiences and capabilities will not be considered. So, here many of incapable managers& Leaders making team very inconvenient and weak.
3). Here is no proper communication standard. It is not guaranteed to receiving responses for your any kind requests. Communication really sucks.
4). HR department is waste for Development . They do nothing expect giving initial offer. They never ask about family commitments and salary.
Advice to Senior Management
HR department need to interact more with development.
Pros
Still carrying a start-up like culture in heart after a really explosive growth over past 5 years and becoming a $2 billion company.
Plenty of opportunities and freedom to improve the things around. Talented are cordial co-workers. Management understands needs of employees.
Cons
It gets pretty hectic at times, mostly because of still a start-up like work culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
open door policy.
start-up like culture
Cons
- Hectic work schedule during releases since new requirements always come up few weeks before, 360 degree change in the design
- No new technology explored
Advice to Senior Management
no words....
Pros
Freedom to explore new technologies and work creatively. Flexible Timings
Cons
It gets pretty hectic at times, mostly because of still a start-up like work culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
Management gives developers freedom to use their creativity, red tape kept to a minimum, company still small enough that you can make a noticeable difference in the company.
Cons
Work schedule can be daunting - be prepared to put in serious overtime during release crunches.
Pros
A company with great technology and a unique approach in their space. You will always be learning something new. Many chances to beat competitors.
Cons
Internal communication needs to be improved. The company needs to work harder at keeping a common message throughout. Too many islands of knowledge.
Pros
CommVault is laser focused on one mission...building the best "data management" software platform on the planet and has accomplished that mission. Now we need to convince the market that this mid-sized software company has legs and can offer a truly enterprise class experience with the product, support and long range planning.
Cons
The company has a hard time retaining sales talent with a 50% or more attrition rate after about 18 months. The company announces record earnings quarter after quarter but only about 20-30% of the reps are on their goal! Also, with these records earnings and millions in the bank, the benefits are weak. No match on 401K Plan, no Employee Stock Purchase, no Profit Sharing.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to put together a competitive benefits plan with the goal of retaining your best employees now that the market has gotten better.
Pros
1) Good ideas are always encouraged and you get time to work on it
2) Great timeoff/leave policy
Cons
1) You'll always feel the need for 26hr in a days and 33 days in a month
2) VERY VERY centralized(read one man) decision making.
