I worked at Command Transportation full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at Command for just under 8 years. I can honestly say that Command was one of the best things to ever happen to me. The atmosphere is electric. If you are a shy person, this is not the place for you. Your career is literally uncapped. You make as much money as you want to. In ANY sales job, it's half luck and half timing. It's no better or no worse than anywhere else out there. You get to wear jeans and a t shirt to work every day. I can honestly say that from day one, I felt as though I was part of a family at Command. I made some of my best friends during the course of my employment there that will carry with me the rest of my life. I literally can not say a bad thing about the place. I made an incredible amount of money and was given the opportunity of a lifetime.

    Cons

The only reason I left was because my wife had our first baby and I was commuting 70 miles a day round trip. People that are posting negative reviews about Command likely were fired. Of course you're going to have bitter feelings. I have worked in other roles within corporate America and I can honestly say that sales is very basic. You get what you put in. If you're not willing to put in the work, and out-work and out-grind everyone, you'll never make it no matter where you are. Sales is the hardest way to make an easy living. That remains true no matter where you go. Is Command perfect? No. Name me one company that is. There are PLENTY of people that badmouth Google, LinkedIn, and many other of the companies that are known for treating their employees in the best way possible. I had daily conversations with the CEO, COO, President, EVP's that made me feel as though I had a large impact on the scope of the business. The guy running the company is one of the first people in the office every day and one of the last to leave. He basically started the industry. Can you think of a better place to work in 3PL?

The management are all very nice people who are a joy to work with. The people that you get to work with are the best part of this company.

    Cons

Low starting salary, poor professional growth potential- if you are looking to grow professionally and not just your cold-calling sales skills this is not the place for you.

Keep the excitement and fun in the organization and help account manager attain their career and financial goals in a more structured way.

I worked at Command Transportation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good opportunity to make money, decent entry level job

    Cons

Sink or swim, lack of support or investment in employees and education

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change culture: more professional, offer real training and education for employess, may people leave there with no other valuable skills i.e. B2B selling other than in the logistics industry....given that your turnover average is 2-3 years it would be helpful to retaining employees as well as attracting graduates.
