    GREAT Company

I worked at Commission Junction full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I was an Associate Account Manager in the Westborough office. Great company and people. A lot of smart and dedicated people work in this office. The management team is very strong and they truly care about their teams and people. The company is a fun company to work for.

    Cons

Not in Boston which was a long commute.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move the office to Boston because otherwise you will loose more talent.

I worked at Commission Junction full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Easy work
    Relaxed
    Good Work/Life balance
Good co-workers to have, management included.
For what you do, the pay is fine

    Cons

    Compensation is too low
High turnover because pay is weak
High stress but monotonous easy task. Basically doing the same thing a million times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let workers become more creative in their job. Find a way to get more budget to keep talent. Build team morale better with outings or events or better perks. People there are too talented to be doing the same things and aren't given enough room for creativity.

    Pros

Young & energetic culture, good benefits, fun events, like to promote from within

    Cons

Steep learning curve with little training, company is undergoing lots of change

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement better training for employees. Communicate better and more frequently to all employees, not just management and higher-ups.

I have been working at Commission Junction full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The people at CJ are outgoing, friendly, and hard-working. We are the leader in our space and we carry confidence when we work with our clients. The company is gaining more organizational structure and accountability, which was previously lacking. We have some outstanding people, but most importantly almost everyone genuinely wants to contribute to the team.

    Cons

Management is willing to settle. It starts with hiring some *meh* people among the great people, just to fill a spot. Since the company has been doing it for years, it permeates the entire culture. People will settle for less than the best on reports, efficiency, and attitudes. We could be great, because we have some great people, but we don't take things far enough, so good ideas die on the vine or get implemented without enough thought.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give everyone a clear, compelling reason to come into work every day and you can start to treat everyone like adults. Systems of time-keeping and even monetary bonuses are less inspiring than working toward something meaningful and knowing you have a direct impact on the company's success.

    Pros

Good people, generally good hours, day to day is generally not too stressful. Good culture overall.

    Cons

No clear strategic direction, poor communication across the organization. There seem to be lots of initiatives and talk of changes, but very little trickles down.

    I worked at Commission Junction

    Pros

Team-focused. Hands-on leadership. Incentives for performance. Ownership in company translated into each team member acting as a CEO, constantly aware of the goals and bottom line. A collaborative culture to build and be a part of something bigger and better.

    Cons

Long hours, but not necessarily a con. We were all working hard as if CJ was our own company. Tireless energy was abundant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job. You empowered strong, driven, entrepreneurial minds to collaborate on building a better solution without jealousy and insecurity which can grow like a disease and disable entire arms of business development.

I worked at Commission Junction full-time

    Pros

Relatively fun environment and friendly coworkers
    Fairly low stress
You aren't hassled if you do your job well

    Cons

Ineffective at the director & sr director level on the east coast
Incompetence by mid management who take credit for good results and point fingers for poor results
Projects that add little value but make a lot of noise
Online mkt channel that is on the back nine of relevancy
Upper mgt that doesn't recognize or care about th above

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a close look at who you've left in charge
Work harder to retain strong employees. There's a reason for the high turnover

I have been working at Commission Junction full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere and day-to-day is generally positive and they put on some fun events for the employees. Overall your experience here is going to be radically different based on what department you work in.

    Cons

Lower and middle management can be very inexperienced and ineffectual, and it doesn't seem like upper management is aware of that or they are not willing to improve things. The managers seem to be very self-serving sometimes and don't have their employees' best interests in mind.

I have been working at Commission Junction

    Pros

Friendly people (most). The business model seems solid. They are the leader in their space. Ability to travel to client sites if you hold the correct postions.

    Cons

Extreme nepotism by the management team. Watch your back if you are not part of the inner circle. The never ending threat or fearing for your job.

They are very slow to react to what the customer really wants.
Management team takes employee feedback and does nothing with it.
